So where is the new control panel hidden at?

I'm using the driver and new CP works for me.

The most important thing is after you installed new driver, a REBOOT is REQUIRED

these look a little -too- beta for my palette. I am sticking to the 82.65s which seem pretty good so far... the 83.40s were not good for me.

I dont have a nforce mobo and my CP dont work, should I still install ntune3 to make the new CP work?

Drivers are great so far, I really noticed the IQ when I first booted in to XP.

CS:S still looks the same and it'sjust fine.

I get the new control panel, works fine but prefeer the old one for now.
I can just right click on the desktop and it's in the context menu to choose it.

Overall so far this driver is a keeper...

Does the new control panel only work in XP or only with certain cards or is SLI only?

yoink,.. added to my device id listing

ok, guys, it seems the new cp is built on the ntune3 engine, which requires an nforce mobo.. i know the last set with a cp didn't work properly at all, (ie, setting to highquality in the new cp caused quality to be set to low in the old cp)

my view is NVIDIA DON'T MESS WITH WHAT WORKS OK

I would generally agree with that, but the thing is nVidia need to develop this .net CP for the new Windows (Vista)... so they dont really have a choice and they might as well iron out the bugs before Vista ships.

no they don't, the old cp wil work fine in vista as its a .dll based structure which is what all windows is based on, even vista, .net cp is not required, it is just an extra

I found that benchmark scores were pretty low with these drivers. I lost 300 3dMark05 points. Game performance is about average. I went back to 81.95 as they seem to give me the best performance.

In fact every driver 81.98 and onward has sucked for me.

    Drivers intstalled/ CP not...

ok, got the drivers to install - using the normal setup - the 83.60 puts my 6800 CT OC into 4 byte/680x480 mode - but if i resetup using the 83.10 set up -- i can then direct the setup to the 83.60 mod inf and other drivers....

but, nvcpl.dll, nview.dll, and nvshell.dll are "Not found" as shown in Riva Tuner nor is the .exe program found.....

oh, well....i may go back to the 83.40 since i am lusting after a 7800 GS EGA superclock....
