I'm getting this error message when trying to run the demo. I've tried NGO 82.12 and the official 81.98 without success.

OS is WinXP Pro SP2 with latest updates and latest drivers for everything

I get another problem, when i hit the shortcut to launch the game, i get the game in window mode, just a black window and my desktop acts like it's frozen, i get the game music and stuff but nothing else so i kill the process via task manager....

I tried compatibility mode but still nothing, any ideas ?

not my idea, its from http://www.crashday-game.de/forum/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=85da2d6f74c206a5c5753c774fbe1297

"I have seriously found a way around the frame rate bug or what ever you wanna call it. I do have a 9700 pro and the frame rates would be horible with the normal drivers. SO I INSTALLED THE OMEGA DRIVERS AND IT HAS A SOFT MOD WHERE IT SAYS FORCE TO 9800 IN THE MENU. I did that and boom. The game runs like fluid. Now dont try this I dont really know if this is bad for the card or not, but dont blame me if you fry your card. I just dont think the game liks the 9700 cards."

Yo, Kyaner, i am having the exact same prob that you had but ive tried turning off advanced text services but it doesnt help. Might try updating drivers from 81.95 to 81.98.

Tho actually Running in 640x480 sorts it out. The intro vids are still not fullscreen but the desktop is hidden, and u can put the res back up when u get into the menu

I wouldnt mind getting just 25fps, but 2fps, i surpass the requirements of the game, and lets be honest, it should run sweet.

Heck i play bf2 with most on medium and one on high x2aa and x2af and it runs pretty well.

I think something is wrong with either amd type processors, or some of us have something running that the game does not like.

It must be some Radeon bug, I play at 1280x1024 2xAA + 8xAF and itz good, no sudden FPS drops.

Ok installed the omega drivers, the ones listed here with a link, and then went into start menu and found omega, soft mod swapper, and enabled 9800pro, rebooted.

Loaded crashday, and wadda ya know.

I'm now getting all up textures everything 50- 75fps all the time on my rad9700pro.

satrab, All i can say is thankyou very very much, you've made an old man happy, well i'm 32:)

Anyone else looking at this thread and wondering should i, shouldn't i, just do it, it works perfectly.

Now makes me wonder what other games it might help.

    Thanks again.

If anyone else is getting the annoying resolution changes after each and every intro video then create a shortcut and use the -skipvideo tag in target.

    eg: "G:\Crashday demo\Crashday.exe" -skipvideo

hmmm played this and got bored witin a couple minutes. The graphics look outdated and the gameplay is just dull. Flatout is better looking and a better game overall.

Flatout is a good game, i did enjoy that for a good while, but wanted to try something else, I've got nfsmw but shadows are messed up badly, just like bf2 on my system.
