whats wrong with that ? it was submitted by kyosen afairly well know overclocker, im sure i saw a movie of his not so long ago and his cooling rig was huge so im sure he knows whayt hes doing to obtain those high ghz,
but why do you think its dodgy as i aint into the intel stuff.

That first one is fake. It doesn't even show how much voltage is going through it. The second one, though, is real. I can believe it since Intels can OC a lot farther than Athlons. I think the highest I've seen an Athlon was like 5Ghz, but I can't remember. I know it wasn't higher than that, though.

The first one isn't fake. Why would Kyosen (a respected Japanese overclocker) risk his creditability on a fake OC?

Also, that is on an authentic CPU-Z validation site, along with the CPU-Z screens of many other well known overclockers. You can't fake benchmarks there.

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/records.php?PHPSESSID=5601ddf413a026bb0b915539dc879d20
And look, It's even on the hall of fame. Which further proves It's credibility.

And the highest Athlon OC is somewhere around 4.0-4.2GHz, not 5GHz.

P.S - If you check out the details for all the CPU's on the hall of fame, none of them tell the voltage, disproving what you say about it being fake because "It doesn't even show how much voltage is going through it."

That is a real oc and is legit, and it is not the world record.

And the wr in amd is still 4096mhz.

And 7+ ghz has been posted many times.

    Use the damn search button.

authed cpu-z's never show the voltage!

they only show it on the machine, so to know the voltage, ull have to ask the guy or long for a screen shot.

    and 7.4Ghz is perfectly real.

4.1ghz or so is the max i've seen on an AMD. 7.6ghz on an Intel.

I'm pretty sure i've seen a screenshot of some guy in japan running an intel @ 7.9GHz. A lot of the well known overclockers can reach 7GHz with intel 3.6/3.8GHz chips.

I don't think they could get through a full bench at those speeds. Just long enough to get through Super pi I think.

I don't understand the RAM frequency records. I run at 733 all day long.

Well, I didn't know that it wouldn't show the voltage on there. I don't know everything you know. As for the AMD thing, that was just a guess. I really couldn't remember. I just knew it was no where near what an Intel could do.

This does beg the question: Since Intels can OC farther than Athlons could they not be overclocked more and end up beating Athlons in games? Obviously you couldn't keep a 7 or even 6 Ghz Intel running for long, but if you compared the max stable in-game bench on an Intel and on an Athlon, would the Intel win?

    Would a 3ghz intel beat a 2ghz athlon 64? no, it wouldnt. So a 6ghz p4 wouldnt beat a 4ghz athlon. And at 7ghz they arent usable
