    Hi.
I'm wondering what's the best driver for a geforce 6600 256ddr/128bit. I'm running it at 350/500... and currently using the 81.98 official.

    Getting:
    10500 3dmark01
    5000 3dmark03
    2200 3dmark05

Playing: Most wanted, hl2, farcry, q4, FEAR...

Is there any driver, moddified or not, that can improve my fps on the 6600 vanilla?

Hope you can help me... Thanks!

Those 3dmark scores are pretty good for your setup imo. I don't think you will get much better performance with other drivers but you'll just have to try them and see for yourself, you never know.

thx for the answer DoKeR...however i'm not really pleased with the card... it doesn't overclock quite well as the other 6600's i've seen...
    default freqs are 300/500...
    i can get only 350-360 / 515 mhz gpu/mem...
idle temps are 60-65 C, high temps are 75-80 C... i don't think the temps are holding it back...

    *edited because after rereading, understood...

Is your memory on the card cooled? I'd throw some heatsinks on it if not...

nope... memory isn't cooled.. i'll try to find some heatsinks..i don't if it will help...
my concern is the core... it only reaches 360mhz..if i set it above that, monitor gets black... like in stand-by...and i have to restart...
other 6600's i've seen are pulling at least 400mhz on the core...

Those temps seem very high to me,does your case have a good airflow ? my card never goes over 52 C with only one case fan
