Still got the CoD2 shadow bug with the 81.98. Back to 78.05 for me. :cussing:
I did have a slight increase in FPS in it tho!

    NVidia Guys are bad M*thaf*ckers!

    I have lost 7 FPS on F.E.A.R.

and 12 FPS on Source Video Stress Test.

    I roll back to 81.95

Yeah, Pain Shop Pro 9 still won't load.

Also, about that OpenGL bug, not sure but, does that mean that the card is not used to it's fullest? 3D Studio MAX is still way to slow, in 2d viewports, why???

I'm getting sick of all the dudes complaining about a few FPS loss and that the're rolling back. Like the're never satisfied. :frown: And you should watch your tone with that language.

Back on topic: WoW!! Finally new Win98 drivers. :D Still use that OS for older games. ;)

I don't play all the games you guys play but I was just glad to get the 80 series drivers to work in FS9. The 78.01 worked fine in FS9 and I was getting around 60 to 70 FPS. There is a huge drop with the 80's down to 30 to 40 with everything maxed. I don't have a shuttering problem and everything looks OK. In COD that too looks fine. I am not into the performance like some in here are. I am more into a smooth game with high IQ. Don't get me wrong here it is nice to read everything you guys print and I have learned a great deal at this site but I feel the drivers were more set up to fix all the problems that Nvidia had made with the 80 series drivers....but thats just me...Mike

Nvidia wrote they have fixed the Corel Paint Shop Pro X won't start, but it still doesn't start. Still freeze up at start, and won't start. :frown:

yep, and I did a research before, when it happened, and found out that it actually IS a problem with nvidia drivers.

BTW they will work on your series 7 drivers, I tried, it only doesn't work on 8.

That does explain a lot, and a quick bit of info for you; post count means nothing when it comes to actual knowledge and name calling.

Anyway OT; installed these last night, broke 6000 points in 3D Mark 2005 on my 6800GT (pretty good for an Intel based system as far as im aware), not any major difference in games and overclocking potential seems to be about the same (able to retain my 425/1200 24/7 clocks). Nothing amazing, but the bug fixes look very good (I should think MS Flightsim 2004 fans with 7800s are jumping for joy ;)). Overall a soild set from the looks of it.

    Tested in:

    - Quake 4
    - WoW
    - Riddick
    - NFS MW
    - HL2: The Lost Coast

uhh... CAN U PPL STOP ARGUING AT EACH OTHER....

AND ........... on the process thingy........ 60 IDLE PROCESSES will NOT affect performance MUCH , it will cause LOAD TIMES to INCREASE ALOT due to PAGE FILE BEING USED (alot)

ONLY ACTIVE RUNNING PROCESSES WILL AFFECT PERFORMANCE BECAUSE IDLE ONES ARE ONLY LOADED INTO MEMORY/PAGEFILES, WHICH CONTRIBUTE TO LOAD TIMES/ALT-TAB INBETWEEN TIMES/ETC...

-correct me if me dreamy thinkin is somewhere wrong... as this is just my thought on this ( never had 60processes or less than 20... usually 30~35)

ok... on the driver topic... will download/install/test/tweak/kill after i eat my snack and wait for my other dls to finish ;)

nah, everything good here, nothing much changed from 81.95.....
-not worth the time for regular 66xx users unless a specific bug has been fixed for you, other than that, nothing targeted for the 66xx family :( sadly... (yet not fixes means no problems :D )
