yeah, i cant get my core clock any higher than 484 mhz or there are artifacts...
i managed to get increases in my core and mem that lead to almost 200 more 3dmarks.

We have just spotted XFX's GeForce 6800 GS AGP listed on Komplett's video card page.

There has been increasing speculation surrounding the release of both ATI and NVIDIA launching AGP versions of their latest products to fill a void in the market. It looks like GeForce 6800 GS AGP will be announced on Tuesday the 13th.

Not surprisingly, AGP is still the most popular interconnect for mid-to-high end video cards. Many consumers just don't have the cash to upgrade their entire system in order to buy a video card capable of playing today's latest games at high resolution with decent frame rates.

As such, they're left with the option of getting a low-end PCI-Express solution, or keeping their current AGP-based system and upgrading the video card. Unfortunately, there is a current lack of high-end AGP parts, with production of AGP-based Radeon X800 XT, Radeon X850 XT and GeForce 6800-series cards starting to dry up.

There is no concrete information on clock speeds just yet, but we wouldn't be surprised if the reference design was clocked at 430/1000MHz, just like the PCI-Express version. The card listed on Komplett's page is an Extreme Edition, so we can expect it to be clocked higher than those reference clock speeds.

We are also expecting ATI to launch Radeon X800GTO AGP, in order to get rid of the remaining R420 and R481 cores. The standard clocks for that card are likely to be somewhere around 400/1000MHz, and will have twelve pixel pipelines and six vertex shaders. We're not sure whether there will be an X800GTO2 AGP just yet, however.

This news follows the rumours surrounding an AGP based GeForce 7800-series card. Are you still in the market for an AGP card? This would be an ideal replacement for a GeForce 6600 GT or Radeon 9800 Pro. Let us know what you think in the forums.

Thats very cool as there are still many users using AGP and with the availability of some good CPU's for those boards, they should be good gaming machines.

 

It's the 19th now and still no news of an AGP 6800GS =/

 

The XFX 6800gs has two pci-e versions, one 'extreme' model which is oc'd and beats the 6800gt quite convincingly. Guru3d have done a review on it recently. So I hope XFX will come up with an AGP version of that as well.

 

The question is would that extreme model be able to beat the Gainward Golden Sample 6800GT (the most extreme 6800GT iv seen) at stock/guaranteed speed?

 

And Id like to see how long that GPU actually lasts running those speeds..ummm burn out any time soon?

No question it probably wouldn't run long at those speeds and I even doubt you could run a long gaming session w/o the system crashing.
That bench was pretty much a suicide run, IMO.

 

The "low" 3dm03-score is because of his slow cpu not the 6800gs.

 

Yeah, damn its only a Sempron 2500 :nerd: , for that kind of CPU that sore pwnz :speed:

Btw. is there a way to regulate the fan speed by some software on a Ge6800GS? Its something new for me, i mean when i log in to windows my fan spins down a bit ( i hear it), is there a way to control it?
