    Hi all

    I am upgrading my current rig (look at my rigs specs on the left)
    to the folowing: *Amd X2 4400+
    *Asus A8N32-SLI deluxe
    *2x 512 trancsend DDR400 (in dual channel)
    *2x Western Digital Raptor 36GB in raid 0
    *450W Evercool PSU
    *I will use the onboard sound card for the time bieng
    * 17" CMV LCD monitor
    * Gigabyte 7800gtx

    I was wondering if this upgrade would be worth it, and would i see big performance increases in everything once i have upgraded?

    A couple of things with your set up I don’t know if I would buy that memory spend your money wiser cheap ram and expensive hdds, I would go with a better memory say ocz or corsair, gskill not much performance seen with faster hdds ram is every thing on a AMD

    What do you think about this
    4400
    asus a8n32 <----- not sure you need this board but hey why not :)
    2x512 ocz3200plat r2 <---- these babys go 600mhz
    2x160gb wd sata in raid 0<----way fast enough and more space
    Gigabyte 7800gtx <--- any brand will do
    antec 480w tp v2 <---no sweat, if at a later date if you want to go sli

    Much better-rounded system good performance but in the end its your money

    gtx I suppose but I do love the x850's graphics all I will say if you want a great A64 stick in the best memory you can it is a big part of the a64's performance and is the difference between a fast system to a killer rig. There is also the compatibility issues bad mem can give so many head aches its not funny.

    But either way great rig :)

    about RAM
    i have corsair 3200xl
    and they go to 340mhz(680)
    ocz platinum is very good ram but i think xl are better
    just be sure xl is version 1.2 (1.1 is without brainpower pcb)
    and all xl have tccd
    with ocz you must look version on the ram if it is 1.0 then it is tccd if it is 1.1 then it is tcc5

    and about motherboard
    dfi ultra d is THE motherboard(if you are planning to use sli buy dfi lanparty sli dr)
    rock stable
    bios has many options(can be very confusing if you are begginer)
