AGP vesrion has a power connector... and it need's to be pluged in.
but PCI version doesn't have it. not 100% sure but i think it's true ;)

    kj1204...

if u r thinking about getting a pci e card get a 6800gs around 210usd and its better than 6600gt which i also have.on par with my 6800gt. 6600gt is also a good card

ITS easy if you card has a female molex plug or female PCI-E power plug, it needs power, if it doesen't, then you don't duh ;)

Yup...like everybody else has already said only the AGP version of the 6600 needs a extra power connector, as with the PCI-e version enough power is supplied through the connector/slot.

Geforce 6600 AGP, no. 6600GT AGP, yes, you'll be needing a spare molex connector. Forceware ver 81.95 should tell you so. Also, you'll find out if your current PSU mojo is enough or not.

Stupid question maybe... There are two other connectors on the same cable that is connected to my 6600gt. Is it important where those two are connected?

If you're saying that there's more than one connector on the power lead coming from the power supply, then No, it shouldn't matter what the others are connected to as long as the card is getting enough power.

(didn't mean to double post, sorry)

I have some problems with my card freezing up for some seconds, then goes back to normal. I think maybe it's the PSU, it's only 300w. Should that be enough for a 6600gt agp?
