I have my multipier set to 12
    HTT 228.06
    I dropped my ram down to ddr333 instead of ddr400..running @ pc2900
    Vcore is set to 1.6v
    cpu voltage is 1.45v
    Current clock is 2.736GHz

How can I get more out of this w/o decreasing the performance? I doubt I could bump my ram back up to ddr400 but not sure. I would love to get to 3.0GHz, but would be happy w/ 2.9GHz.

Open to all advice from people who KNOW what they are talking about,

I used clockgen and superpi to test for stability and set the OC in the BIOS.

Thanks, if you need more info please ask.

also would like to keep my current RAM timings @ 2-3-2-5 @ T1

Raise your ram timings...that should do it...might need to increase voltage a tad (meaning next highest from default). Why did you downclock your memory...defeats the whole purpose of buying ddr400...lmao.

Edit: I'd say 3.0Ghz is pushing it man, might want to get watercooling for that. You'll have to raise your voltage a good amount I'm sure to get that speed.

    ^ what he said.

ummm.... how about more stability tests? like memtest and prime95 and letting them run overnight/all day or even longer?

    ram timings are 2-3-2-5

what would you recommend?when you say increase voltage are you talking on the RAM or CPU? It will not boot running ddr400, runs fine w/ no errors @ ddr333.

you want to have an overclock that allows you to run your ram at its designated speed, lowering the bandwidth will hender the machine you can set it to run at DDR400 and just clock the CPU, just losen up the ram timings a tad and you should be fine.

I think Stang just re-stated what I originally ment..don't down clock your memory to ddr333...just lower the timings..say..2.5? try that..if not try cas 3.

Voltage on CPU is what I meant.

You probably wont have to lower the cas, just change your other timings a little like run 2 4 4 8 or 2 4 4 10 and that should work, if that still doesnt then lower the cas to 2.5 or 3 even

    quick question
when overclocking the CPU is it really necessary to change the MEMORY TIMINGS or that

I think you will at least need to drop to 2.5 CAS if you plan on setting it back to 400 as it will be running @ 456mhz with your current overclock.

That is what I had to do

    running at 2.5-4-4-10
