I have some questions about the new cmss modes that you get in the software with the new XI FI cards. I wondering about the game mode here. I am using it with my headphones and that is awesome but should it be used with speakers. I have a 7.1 speaker setup and what is the best setting to use those? With cmss and if so, which mode or just should I completely turn it off? There is something called upmix mode with the choices: stereo xpand and stereo surround. I can set these to ON, OFF or AUTO. I love options but these are just confusing me I have the Fatal1ity version.
Just play around with the settings until you find the ones you like. Personally I use the stereo expand option with my 5.1 speakers. Everyone´s different so just keep fiddling with the settings and eventually you´ll be satisfied with the sound.
