looking for a soundcard at the 100-150 range

    hey every one i never really bought a sound card before...well back in the day with my old 486 that had onboard sound i think i stuck a sound blaser live in there im not sure but the question is

    im looking to get a new one prolly a sb adigy2 but theres so meany diffrent versions i don't know if i sould spend 80 or 150 any sugestions im looking to improve gameplay and sound for music i know my speakers suck but i will upgrade them soon

    thanks for the help and im looking to spend 100- 150 us on one any one have a suggestion or could explain what i would be looking for in a card ^_^

    for that money, the best card you can get is the creative soundblaster x-fi.
    if you can get it in buget, get the platinum, otherwise the xtreme music.

    for 100 US get an Audigy 2ZS platinum or something similar or a X-FI.

    well i got the x fi and its instaling now i got hte cheaper one i dident see a diffrence between the two..but i noticed something when i opend my pc i dident relize i had onboard sound lol i thought i had a crappy sound card thats all....so how do i disable such a thing i have to go into my bios or is there anouther way?l

    nope, bios is the only way :p

    just go in and disable onboard sound, then install your brand spankin new sb x-fi. Also, if you want good speakers and on a budget, I highly recommend the Logitech z5300's. I use them and LOVE THEM SOOO MUCH!

    if i install it, how many FPS will i gain within onboard audio?

    also may I ask what speakers you purchased? or are using

    If you couldn't figure out that you had onboard sound, maybe you should have somebody else install this card for you...

    lol bro how hard is it to put a pci card in it dosent take rocket science

    but i have creative 5.1 speakers im looking to get better ones any suggestions

    Just remember the PCI card slots are the white ones....lol :D

    And as far as speakers...if you got the money go with Klipsch! Awesome sound! Especially with the X-Fi.
