These drivers are the best yet for my 6800go Ultra, very smooth. I tried them yesterday for the heck of it thinking they would suck because they are a little older, but I was wrong. They are fast as any driver I have tried and have very good IQ. The 81.94's looked washed out on my system and the 81.89 made my cursor not work smoothly. I don't know how they will work on a desktop but I think they are worth a try.

82.10 wasn't the most stabile driver (DELL release driver). 82.04 works just fine - fast and nice IQ.

Oh yes they are. Only drivers released on nvidia.com are official, WHQL or not. You must have noted that a lot of the betas are WHQL.

Yeah, they run COD2 very well. Good combination of speed and IQ.

It's both. Beta is typically taken to mean two things: 1) it's not ready for release, and 2) it's probably buggy. The WHQL tag is not a guarantee, but it's a good sign of a less buggy driver, so there goes #2. It's not beta in the sense that it's very buggy, only that NVIDIA isn't sure it's ready for prime time.

These drivers have nice IQ and good performance, when i see a bug i will go back to the 81.94's.

Its when the soldiers have no textures and are completely black, so they look like ninja's

Correct, though as I said the WHQL alone doesn't make it less beta. WHQL doesn't really say anything about games that I have noted. You are also right about what nvidia call beta. When you get down to what nvidia call alpha you have something like a normal beta. ;)

  20. anything is better then 81.xx drivers, anyone had the colorfull pipe looking textures filling up the screen at start and not getting to info page and then actully have to shut comp down when rebooting ?

p.s WHQL dont mean squat ,I know all of us have installed stuff FROM M$ and it has said not WHQL not recommended to install.so i really dont know what the debate is about ,think about it!
