The Q4 performance increases are what I find intriguing. Don't know if those increases will carry over to the GF6 series. I'm downloading now and will let you know.

didn't like the 81.89 at all, less scores in 32mark05 and CS:S test, Quake 4 didn't play well either =\ back the perfect 81.85 =]

GeForce4 Ti, GeForce FX 5600: Java applications crash upon exiting

dose this mean FX5600 cannot use this driver???

    Specs as listed:

These tests were run with a custom multiplayer demo I found somewhere on the net.

    81.85 - 70.55
    81.94 - 71.07

Within the margin of error. The second test was after a fresh restart, so I really doubt there's much of a difference at all for GF6 users.

That's listed as one of the 'fixes' in the 81.94 Release Notes

I still have a humble 5900XT card in my main PC (plus a 5200 & GF-4 in others) and just downloaded the international version of 81.89 the other day over (extremely slow) dialup...

So far all the 81.xx drivers have worked great for me on all my Win2K & XP Machines and I always use Drivercleaner 1.2 when updating. Looks like I should have waited for this official-release!!! Here we go again...

    Hey Don,

I like the 7800 GTX 512 review. Can't help but wonder with new games (supposedly, as listed in cfg) like COD2 that can take advantage of dual core cpu's and with these drivers claiming enhancement with dual core cpu's, how would a 64 x2 4800 7800gtx 512 sli stack up agaisnt the FX57?

If you don't have the tiem, you can just send me the 64x2 4800 and 2 gpu's... I'll test it (forever!).

    Best regards,
    Lex

P.S. I'm also surprized there's no COD2 timedemo benchies yet...

I was in the middle of a cs:s game and it froze, then went back to desktop and everything was blue except for my icons sitting there staring back at me saying "what?". Don't know if it's the drivers fault though cuz i have the cpu, the memory, and the gfx card oc'ed. Not by alot though. 1.st time this ever happened to me.

I think these drivers definitely make use of Dual-Core processors.

    3dmark05 Tests (Default)

    81.89 - 8746
    81.94 - 8849

I think nVidia is doing a great job with their drivers. When I first got my X2 a couple months ago, my scores where at 84xx, now I'm at 88xx. Good work boys!

About 1000 points more in AquaMark compared to 79.11 but still 8x.xx drivers are useless for me because of that Direct Access-crap! Every time I start playing BF2 my display is blank but I can hear the music, I get picture after shutting down my monitor (Nokia 447Zi) and putting it back on. Not very healthy for the monitor I suppose. Deleting those two files from system32-folder as adviced didn't help.

Can't they put an option to switch that thing off so that these drivers would behave as nicely as good old 7x.xx's??

what else would he base it on...stability? lol theres plenty of those

i base my drivers on benchies, if games get worse performance on a new driver then why stay with it?

Quake 4 runs great with these drivers! Much smoother than 81.85...

Ive said it before and ill say it again "isnt it odd how peoples systems differ" Im standing by my original comment "the iq in cod2 is awful"!
They dont even improve my performance its about the same as before with 81.85.

Just rolled back earlier and cod looks lovely again :D

    Strange innit :p

ps.yes i know how to uninstall drivers properly ;) (i learnt it here) :D
