that artifacting is wierd, what kind of Temps were you seeing?

janos - do me a favor, and see how it runs with the mipmaps forced to trilinear, triple buffering on, but leave the LOD Bias on Clamp

bozo, yes, it seems it's time to re-do all the autoexecs as the 80 series drivers are a whole new animal, we'll get on that soonly, thanks for the heads up

fli_guy, do you get that same GW corruption with the stock 81.84 set as well?

schmeh, do you get the same issues in BF2 with the standard 81.84 set?

Hope i didn't miss anyone's question/comment....thanks for the feedback guys, keep it comin!

Agreed, it's weird... and the first thing I thought when I saw it was to check the temps. They were normal... between 50-55 degrees C.

There seems to still be bugs with the standard drivers as well on certain systems, a few of the modded 81.82 drivers had most bugs fixed in them (the banned 81.82 are rad) but I have had trouble with all the 81.84 drivers so far so I think it is definetley a Nvidia problem. I thought Nvidia optimised 81.84 for 6 and 7 cards but they seem to be choppy on my system for some reason as well as a little hot.

    Sticking with "banned name" 81.82.

Yes, the LOD bias setting caused the big FPS drop. I use 4X AA and 8X AF (AA is forced by driver and AF is applyed in the in-game advanced settings)
But, does Triple buffering work with DX9 games?

Edit: It is intresting. I allowed the negative LOD bias and ran a CS:S VST again. Now the FPS is the same (~63) but I have a lot of shimering and anisotropic filtering mistake. Nvidia help file and other guides say: Negative LOD bias should be clamped when anisotropic filter is enabled because this combination can cause AA and AF mistakes.

i got that problem too...its not DH fault, its just 81.84.

go to graphic options and turn it down, and up and you will be ok.
    tedeaous but it works.

Negative LOD bias requires higher AF because of possible shimmering/texture tearing, we've allowed it simply because the game can look better with it allowed but perhaps we'll clamp it in future sets, anyone running a 5xxx series card and these drivers seeing shading artifacts, like the bf2 "snow" posted earlier, please post as it could be a simple fix but we're kinda experimenting with the shaders for IQ/performance

On my Dell 2005FPW (also 20" widescreen) these drivers worked in 1680x1050.

    this is happening in MADDEN06:

Regular 81.84 no artifacts or shadow problems..

Went to DH81.84 then the field in middle to far shots is like solid blue snow; as well as passing cone.

Went back to original 81.84, WAS STILL THERE!

Yes - I used latest DC to clean and reboot inbetween each install.

Then went back to 77.77; and everything is fine.

    Just FYI

No, I don't have any problems with the standard 81.84 drivers. Infact, those are what I usually run now and they work great for me.

It is just a feedback: I was happy when I said that the installer support my Hungarian language. But it is funny, because the driver does not have the language files. (The installer is Hungarian, the driver is English, it is intresting.) If you make translations for installers you should equip language files too (If the stock driver does not have it you can rip it from an older one...)

We build the initial EXE file, and it may support every language convieved by mankind for all i know, but as for adding language support to the drivers themselves, we really have no control over that :(

I'll try and see whats causing that WoW fog issue to guys
