I just noticed my new Gigabyte X800 (silent pipe, Turbo) is at load at about 92°C, and idles at about 50°C (this is overclocked at 410mhz core and 530 mem).

    Are these normal temps?

No, 90 degrees is very bad. Now some people will say a card can hit 100 or so before death, but that is WAYYYY too high. Usually you want your card to NEVER hit 70+ for it to be in the safe range.

I have an x800 pro and it runs at 60 degrees load. Heck, you idle is even 15 degrees too high. That is probably due to bad cooling. Download ATI tool from guru3d.com and see what your fan speed is at. That app will also work your card as hard as possible to see what your max temps are. Default fan speed on my card was 66%. Since yours is apparently designed to be quiet, it may be running even slower. For now, don't overclock unless you want to RMA the card.
