Whats up with google and the term BETA? I mean Gmail is STILL Beta... why? Google Talk is also Beta... understandable since it just got released... But Google Earth is also beta... Heck their image search engine is ALSO beta... U see the connection?!?! Dont get me wrong, im a fan of Google (yet i dont use their gmail)...
Man, as long as their stuff keeps working the way it does....ie excellent, they can call it any damn thing they want.........
They are always finding better stuff to add. So, they aren't able to bypass level... I don't think they admit that nothing can be perfect/complete.
They're being smart and not just sending out apps and not warning people they're beta and they might not work properly
yea they just covering their butts.. if something going wrong they have an answer "uhmm.. didnt u see that it is in beta still?"
Well i think alot of people are put off by the fact that its "BETA" even though it works perfect... its like they are not so confident to call it "V1.0" and then update it to "v1.01" and so on with fixes... And another thing that is quite messed up with Google is the fact that u need to be invited to use Gmail... i mean whats up with that? They are trying to use the "word of mouth" method?
All you need to do for Gmail is give them a phone number. They do this so that they get actual people and not spammers. I was wondering myself how to get a Gmail account. Yesterday I gave them my phone number and they text you a code that you can use to open up your account.
Well, I think that because almost everyone has gmail account(s) now, they aren't in a hurry about changing how gmail registrations work now...
maybe they want to make sure that every product is 100000% bug free before it is officially launched as a final product at leased there will never be google patch!
Hahahaha... A product can never be 100% bug free... never... there will always be flaws... nothing is perfect... so if google is insearch for perfection, they are in the wrong place...
I think its because they want a giant user base while under the flag of "beta" and when the final version comes around, start charging a premium....but thats just my conspiracy theory....=P
