Good quide. However, he keeps saying it does not support rez's over 1024x768 from within the game. I beg to differ. From the FEAR congig utility and from within the game I can thoose up to 1792x1344. I play at 1600x1200 always. So why can't some people get higher than 1024x768?
Yo,hi i'm well pleased with fear multi and single,both bloody good,you can change to higher res by opening config in shared documents with notepad and retyping your res. But these tweak guides are good. Lol,just been on multiplayer in unarmed combat mode, tops. Got a server up for guru's if ya want a frag or punch up,ip:-80.41.117.102 default port.
I think it may depend on your video card/monitor combination as to which resolutions show up in the game settings, which would explain why some have different resolutions appearing to others. The point he's trying to make in the Tweak Guide is that the game doesn't "officially" support resolutions over the recommended 1024x768.
Makes it a lot easier than using fraps doesn't it. Now we just have to work out how to enable the FPS counter and console.
any ideas on how to get the resolution up? ahh got it - go to My Computer/Shared Documents/Monolith Productions/FEARSPDemo/Settings here one can set the hight and with of game. - looks far better now : )
my machine doesn't seem to handle this game very well.. could be my older vid card drivers.. 6.7.6.6 .. but they are the only ones that seem to work with all the games i play.. AA.. CS:S .. BF2 .. do i try and update vid card drivers.. hmmm
Except for the info on where to find the configs, how to set resolution and the list of commands (most of which don't seem enabled?) I don't find the guide very useful. I had hoped to find out which settings to I could lower without losing too much image quality and at the same time save on memory and/or CPU usage. I'd like to run at my LCD's native 1280x1024 without too many of the hiccups. Can I maybe get the app lower it's mem usage since I 'only' have 1GB of RAM? Don't get me wrong however, I love the tweakguides overall. Guess I had too high expectations considering the high standards the guy has set.
