    I add my GF->Quadro:

BFG GF FX6800 Ultra OC with water block AGP -> Quadro FX4000

I installed 75.90 drivers and everything is working fine. GPU temperature with water cooling is around 40°C

Well im not using the ti 4400 anymore but if i remember correctly the latest drivers usable were the 45.28 at least im using those for the fx 5900xt>quadro 3000 i have now.
As for that card u cant use higher drivers ,or did i miss something?
    ;)
Let me know if i did ;) i can use newer drivers lol.

But im not sure if those were the same for the ti4400.
Ill see if i have those drivers around here and let u know what they were.

Oh and i dont use maxtreem drivers as my program is maya ;)

ok i checked and the only other patched drivers ive found were the 42.51 drivers so i guess those were the ones i used for the ti 4400.

    http://www.smolenice.net/img/gef1.jpg

but in the properties of the card is like geforce still:

For GeForce4 cards, the highest version of drivers you can use is 42.51.
    The procedure goes like this:
    1. Install Rivatuner
    2. Unpack 42.51 without installing them
    3. Patch the unpacked drivers with SoftQuadro4 and NVStrapAntiprotector patches
    4. Install NVStrap and choose the appropriate Quadro4 equivalent (Ti4400 = Quadro4 750 XGL)
    5. Uninstall the current drivers and reboot
    6. When Windows shows "new hardware found", tell it to use the "have disk" option and point at the folder with the patched 42.51 drivers.

    thx, now its working:
    http://www.smolenice.net/img/quadro.jpg

I made one mistake - i didnt uninstall / remove old, unpatched drivers, so there was problem, maxtreeme drivers are working too.

here is step by step manual:

    thx a lot :)

i actually think that the gf 4 ti 4400 worked smoother then the fx 5900xt ,the 5900 is faster in numbers though but i think the 4400 works smoother.
All this in my case offcourse ;)

How can you compare Maxtreme performance between the GeForce4 Ti4400 and Quadro4 750 if Maxtreme does not run on GeForce cards at all? ;)

The main reason people are softmoding GeForces into Quadros in the first place are in fact the special drivers like Maxtreme & Powerdraft which do not run on GeForces.

i thought that maxtreeme drivers increase the performance on GeForce cards softmoded into Quadro´s in 3DSMax.

Robsth-> i meant work with msi 4400Ti non softmoded under max 5/6 and softmoded into Quadro 750 under max 5/6 ,and i see any difference here, only in some scenes...

ah ok i understood wrong then ;)
well the gf shouldnt have a problem working under max but it is said that the maxtreem drivers wont, but as i havent tryed it myself yet i cant say that for sure.

i guess the best thing you can do is install specview and do some test first with the gf and second with the softquadro .
    i noticed a lot of increase .

i was working on a dragon model in maya and with the gf i had to wait before i could move any vertex it was quite anoying .
then i found out about the softmod and tryed again and look no more waiting anymore and i could freely move the vertex in realtime.i had increased speed on animations also.
if i remember correctly in specview 7 i had more than a 100% increase .

this 4400Ti is much more better in 3DSMax than my previous card - Sapphire Radeon 9000Pro 128MB. The work in viewport with complicated models is smoother. But I expected more after softmodding, but its ok. Maybe ill try later work in Maya or XSI.

I am setting up my client with some workstations for a DCC solution where he primarily wants to work with MAYA and 3DS MAX.

I would like to know which is the best rig that i can set him up with under U.S. 3000$?

Dual Opteron with one 6800 Ultra softmodded to quadro 4400?
Athlon FX 55 with SLI 6800 Ultras softmodded to quadro 4400?

Also he likes ASUS A8N SLI but i m not sure about whether ASUS supports any overclocking and is free from stability issues and whether the ASUS v9999 can be softmodded to quadros at all?

Which is the preferred motherboard and cards for this kind of setup?

What is the price difference between 6800 ultra and quadro 4400?

What is the performance difference between 6800 ultra softmodded to quadro 4400 and original quadro 4400?

    Pls need advice.
    Thanks

    Pls. need advice on this.

i dont have a 6800 but as far as i have seen on this forum its not posible to mod 2 6800 's to quadro in sli as you can only mod the first card .
at least thats what i have read , please prove me wrong as i would be interested also ;)

Also, Opterons can't softmod. Unwinder seems to be looking into this. Look at the other threads on the front page. It's in there somewhere.

Hi, I wanna get a 6600GT card, and I read different oppinions in several topics here...

    1. Some say: it´s easy softmod, others say: it´s a lottery
    2. I read that just a RT can softmod the 6600gt, but today I read that AGP cards need do to a NVstrap found in RT and a RT?

Is there some tutorial or pics?
because I´m looking for the last tree days and I just found for Gf 4 and fx series...
I need to buy 3 cards for my office, is there a manufacturer that I can thrust more for softmod? MSI, XFX, EVGA, BFG, etc.. etc..?

    Thanks
    Theo - Brazil.
