    yeah well

better 3dmark05 score doesn't mean better in games

usually it actually means games will be worse off

    LOL to the c*ck joke.

I agree with that alot, this whole "I have xxxx score" etc is a bit annoying. I must admit I do usually do one benchmark every other driver release using 3dMark05, mainly to see if it has adverse effects and to show people on here what kind of score you get using similar hardware to mine and a certain driver (you never know it might save someone wasting their time installing a driver that causes a performance decrease). I can't say I spend much more that 10 minutes doing this every other driver release. I did think about overclocking my CPU just to see what it can do, but to be honest I can't be arsed as it seems unessecary.

I don't think seeing the "3dmark05 score of 10700 points" on my highest benchmark was as impressive as seeing Battlefield 2 soldiers running around whilst absolutely chaos is happening at a very slick and smooth pace. I am afterall a gamer, not a benchmark freak :p

It is nice however to see games using my system to it's potential. It's annoying having games that don't use SLi or utilise the 2gb of ram. Only BF2 and Everquest2 seem to use that extra 1gb shown when I am able to get into a game nearly twice as fast as my friend with a similar system that has only 1GB of ram.

Anyway, who's currently playing BF2? My name online is Kerracher.

On the topic of BF2, EA/DICE need to do something about the kick system, yesterday we had a major Teamkiller and we couldn't kick him because it required alot of votes (from BOTH sides) to have someone kicked, which just isn't balanced. Also some weapon accuracy problems occur. The only gun that feels right is the Special Ops weapon. I know all about one shot to reduce recoil or short burts, but this weapon seems to be the only effective one, which is a bit of a pain.

    I might play BF2 later - I always choose 64 players server.

does anyone have any problems with random freezing during games (N2003, Doom3) with these new drivers? Seems like ever since I installed them...game freeze for about 5 seconds...then continue.

yeah these driver seriously suck because of that. its dumb how you have to sacrifice these things just to play one game.

I have that a few times a day when playing GTA-SA all day(!). Most annoying thing for me is the crappy sound that comes with it. Didn't suspect the 77.30s until now.

    Thanx!

The issue is, though, Snip3r, will BF2 run on those earlier drivers, as this driver was released with that game, I would assume the game developers feel 77.30, at least, would be necessary for the game to run properly.

Thanx for the info snip3r_3, but I've tried those:
    - 77.50 has video related issues for my setup.
    - 77.13 just isn't it, performance-wise ('crappy' game-playing).

And for Battlefield 2, well, uhm, actually, I don't care Dapos ;)

EDIT: so I'll stick with the 77.30s for now.

:D I was thinking the same thing, ...whats that Gump quote about stupid...damn cant remember.

    Damn I must be stupid.

If I were smart I would have looked it up on the Internets and nobody would ever know how stupid I am because I cant remember it.

Im with stupid. (if you're from the pre-Internets generation you'll get that).

Man I better get to sleep, Im ramblin.

Sorry if this has been sayed already.

Have you tried the 77.62hd driver yet.

I was using the 77.30 and fifty's, but couldn't deal with the video lag. I find these to be a little quicker with this game and less lag too.

Good luck on your quest, still looking for the best driver for me.

Yeah, I use the xg77.62 type 2's, and it runs ok, even with my specs. Slightly laggy, but that has to be expected, especially with aa and af enabled.....

Dont think I'll switch to the 77.30's just forone game.

I'm sure when they release a massive patch in about a week (lol) everybody will see massive improvements

I just installed the 77.72's, they seem ok, good iq, but not as fast as the xg77.62 type 2's I had, or the 77.50's.

Havent tried the 77.30's yet, still deciding whether to bother...

I'm downloading them and see later how they go. but I can say that I have a tendency to give in to official releases.
