Hey all, (i know there may be people on these forums and similar forums - sorry if you're seeing this multiple times). new to the forums, and did a search but can't find anything about this anywhere. I just did upgraded from a PNY 5900nu to a BFG 6800 GT OC. Uninstalled the previous drivers, rebooted into safe mode, wiped them clean with Driver Cleaner, reinstalled. Everything appeared to be OK - Doom 3 was screaming along, everything seemed OK. Then I noticed that in a web browser on a web site with a dark or black background, I started seeing these dots whenever I would scroll. As I would scroll down faster, more dots would appear. wtf? (see below for the screen shots) It ONLY happens in a web browser (I've tried both Internet Explorer 6 and FireFox 0.9.2), and ONLY on a site with a dark background. When I refresh the page (or click to another program and back to the website), the dots go away. but when I scroll down again - they're there again! scrolling faster = more dots and corruption. I'm not overclocked in any way (2D, 3D or the computer itself other than the stock overclock). This DOES NOT happen ANYWHERE ELSE - not in any other program but a web browser. Not on the desktop, not in Word, nowhere else. 3D gaming is fine. I idle at 65C. No tearing, no artifacting, nothing. I've called BFG Tech and they suggest: 1) reinstalling the drivers (which I am going to do later today) 2) installing on a different computer (which I can probably do) 3) try some of the drivers here on Guru 3D. i'm hoping different drivers will take care of this problem. cuz if it was overheating, i would be seeing dots EVERYWHERE, not just on a website with a dark background. anyone else experience this? thanks for any suggestions.
that is a wierd problem. I am totally oout of ideas on this. whats the site that your surfin on? maybe i'll try it see if it happens.
I'm having these exact same problems with a PNY Geforce GT 6800. ONLY happens on web sites, with dark backgrounds as the OP. can minimize the window, open it up and it fixes it - as soon as I start scrolling it happens again. Tried reseating it and it didn't work Also tried 4 7*.** drivers and still having the problem. I use drivercleaner in safe mode to clean
turns out the card still had problems, so I RMA'd it. been fine ever since. but now I have a 6800 Ultra.
I fixed it last night - did a bios flash to latest bios. Even backreved it to see if the problem was still there, and sure enough it was. Flashed it again and it was gone.
