    well.... who knows

if they do want to make agp less attractive then let them, doesnt affect me
    :)

im not sure, because i read from other places they DO use slower memory to compensate for the extra bridge

i live in US not europe so maybe here and there different manufaccturing

I think the pci-e cards run better than the agp. Even with the same core/memory settings. Wonder why that is.

I am using rivatuner... tried to take my cpu up to 230fsb(3.465) but it would error on cpu tests so i backed it down to 220(3.3)... i prolly could take this chaintech even higher i think... doesnt get very warm at all with this zalman cooler... heres a few pics of my rig..

How u get that 3.0 up to 3.7 sniper... i error on cp tests on 3dmark05 (only test it errors) at 3.465...

I might have to retest with those 71.xx drivers... cause seems i getting killed on 01...

for those using 6600 gt pci-e getting scores of 4000+ in 3dmark05 what driver version are you using? any special tweaks which made this score possible? btw my 3dmark05 score is ranging from 3800 to 3900 only... i'm currently using forceware 71.84...

Im using 76.41 with 560/1200 clock frequencies to get 4000+ in 3DMark05.

    500/1000 test
    3dmark03 = 8649

hey vulture are you using that DOT thing from MSI? how did you OC your gpu? what tools did you use? you're input would be a lot of help since we're using the same brand...

Nope, i dont use DOT. I didnt even installed the MSI-Driver, cause this one adds some menu panels you cant remove, even if you completely uninstall the driver, at least as far as i know.
I just use Riva Tuner and OC'ed the memory first. Then testing with Aquamark3 and if everything runs fine, i tried a little more. The same with the GPU core frequency. But no guarantee that your card can reach the same speeds as mine. Just try it. A good point to start from 500/1000 should be 530/1100, your card should run fine with this. Then go step by step upwards.

1GB Corsair PC400 2,5-3-3-8,ok it may sound dumb but what is the meaning of 5-3-3-8 ?

    vulture,

ok i will play around with it.. hey is it ok to uninstall the stereo drivers since i'm not planning to use it anyway? will it have a significant perfromance gain if i did? lastly about overclocking.. what increments did you use while OC'ing(core clock and memory clock)?

i will try higher clocks since other ppl can achieve 1250 on mem

i never tried higher but i will now

using 76.41 trying to break old record of 4304 on 05

and hopefully to 9800 in 03

also aquamark somehow never goes high with me, but ill try again
    same with 01

It refer to CAS Latency, RAS to CAS Delay, RAS Precharge and Cycle Time (Tras). Those parameters define the timing/latency of the RAM and is translated into respone time upon request as measured in nano seconds. Programs such as CPU-z and Everest can be used to trace down the memory latency and latency in nanoseconds, in respectively.

Athlon 64 has a intergrated memory controller located inside the CPU itself and thus benefit most from low latency TCCD chips that able to run at 1.5-2-2.

nabelon, you are fine with your Kingston value RAM. There are two variant, i.e. 2.5-3-3 and 3.0-3-3. The 2.5 will probably tiny faster than 3.0.

Investing on expensive TCCD costs twice as compare to the value RAM. Therefore, most people recommended Corsair value ram over the TCCD for Athlon 64. FYI, my PDP Systems Patriot XBL costed me ~SGD410, that is ~RM960.

IMO, since you have invested a lots on your 2x512MB, just live with it. You will benefit most by spend your money on heat sink fan and GPU. Tweak you CPU as you knowledge grow.

    Cheers.

Mmhh i dont think that the stereo drivers affect the performance anyway. So you can uninstall them, no problem.
I OC'ed core and mem separatly. First i tried to push my mem to the max, then the core. As i already said, i started with 530/1100, cause every 6600GT should run perfectly with this settings. Then i increased mem by 10MHz and started testing. Then again 10MHz more and testing. And again...you got it? :D ;) :p Same with core then and you should see how far your card goes. Im really interested in your results!
