What is the best driver out there so far and why?

Mine is the 71.84. Minor Temp issue, improved performance in 3dmark and pretty stable in most of my games.

Well the 71.84 drivers are good all around. The newest 76.41 drivers are faster and have the temp bug fixed (supposedly). But they have minor texture issues, as do most beta drivers. But I only noticed in older games like Unreal 2 and Tribes vengence.

76.41 are great... IMO, they are the best...

I don't know why my system hates any Xtreme G drivers. I get really awful tearing when I have them installed. So, i have to go to the official ones...

76.41 are best drivers, no temp bug, they're fast, only problem with them is the fact that they are OpenGL 2.0 Drivers, and no game supports that standard yet.

OpenGL 1.5 can be easily forced by rivatuner...

I know, its just a bit annoying that its gotta be done in order to play any older OpenGL game with these drivers. Im sure in a final version most older OpenGL games will work though, or be patched so that they'll be able to work but we'll just have to wait and see.

i agree with omarmakki - i always get tearing and little white box artifacts with XG drivers. Not sure what the problem is, but I generally steer clear of them. The only aftermarket drivers I've used and haven't had problems with are DNA-Force drivers, but they haven't been updated since 71.80, and those still have the HL2 pisswater bug.

Anyways, I like 71.84 the best overall. 76.41 are nice and the performance is good, and I'm currently using them, but the OpenGL2.0 problem is annoying for Riddick. nVidia should have a profile for the game that forces OGL1.5 or something.

Had some problems with 71.84 drivers. Massive Temp bug. Judge Dredd vs Death had graphic corruption and lighting issues. Project Snowblind would not work at all! The 76.41 solved all these issues and look great. They are also as fast in games. I'm not replacing these drivers until the next official release.

So what happens when you play an OpenGL 1.5 with these drivers that only supports 2.0?

I wish I could get some of the Modded drivers to install on my comp. I think because my monitor is about 3 yrs old, they keep saying "drivers not compatible with hardware". That's the only thing I can think of that is the problem. maybe a refresh rate thing? My refresh on my monitor wont go above 60.

Well, Riddick gives an error that it needs openGL 1.3 or higher and refuses to start...
