Geforce 2 MX and Radeon 9000. I was quite happy with my 5600 but my 6600gt was one of the crappy versions.
I'd have to agree with this.. still shocking to see recent systems (1-2 years old) STILL shipping with this pos. I mean how much would it kill them to atleast use a geforce 2 mx? GF2MX is nearly 3x faster.
sis 315 64mb for it's era it's 1/4 of the 5200FX and that is "if" it plays a game... (I told my dad: "get a geforce" noooo, he came home with the sis, and my hopes sank down to hell)
geforce fx 5200 in my opinion. I saw so many people think that it was a good card because it had the fx on it. Yea, but it was just an utter piece of crap... and what's so bad about a 9800 pro? I have mine running perfectly, no stability issues, decent performance, and all around decent card. Post decent benchmark numbers for it as well. *shrugs*
I dont no witch card was the worst for me but back 5 or 7 years ago the best was my 3dfx voodoo 3000 witch i still have put away some were it brings back great memorys of a great time in video game history.
The "GeForce 4 MX 4000" gets my vote. Why? For no other reason than it is NOT a GeF4 at all, but rather a Gef2 with a paint job and a higher price tag. Oh, and on the box the makers usually put blatant misinformation about a "128-bit Graphics Interface" when everyone knows it is 32- or 64-bit at best... It is even slower than the FX5200, and is most likely one of the slowest cards still on store shelves today.
well both the fx5200 and the gf4mx are all mainstream cards that are cr@p..... the worst card long time ago was the ati rapge pro turbo and the AIW pro... if i new that sucked that bad... iw ouldnt of bought it, but the name seemed to be pretty good... now im stuck with two aiws.... o well... thats history and the tnt2s were good when they just came out... and then came the gf2mx.... and the gf4mx.... argh.... nitemares
When i was at work i installed 3 5200 and one burned up when we started the computer, so it sucks like a 20 year old hooker!
I hate the FX 5200 card.. its the worst card I ever owned.. I stated that my Geforce 4 MX card was quicker.. But to be fair to the card (5200) the MX card was a Directx 7 card and the FX 5200 is a directx 9 card. So when I played games on it that had like ..'pixel shaders' the FX card used to chug along .. where the MX card just ignored it thus speeding up the game.. To be honest its not the cards fault its Nvidia's fault marketing it as a gamers card when we all know it did'nt have the grunt to do it. But its still a stinker..hehe
Worst video card ever? I once had a Farhenheit technology video card on my 486/33. It took about four seconds to display an adobe acrobat pdf file at 640 x 480. I believe that one was an ISA card. Worst value ever: Matrox Parhelia, weaker than a Radeon 8500, yet never sold for less than $300! Worst modern card: 64-bit FX5200. 128-bit FX5200s aren't quite as bad though still pokey. Modern suckage contender: ATi Radeon 9200 SE. They should have stuck to the 8500 formula or even suped it up. Also another unworthy mention: the 6200 with 16mb TurboCache. What the hell is up with that? It has 16 mb of memory and it has to steal 112 Mb from your system. That's almost like buying an add-on integrated video card, because that's what it is. Other all time contenders: S3 Virge DX/GX. That one had 4 mb of memory, and while it had decent 2D quality, it could not to 3D hardware acceleration. ATi Rage IIC: I had one. All of 8 mb of memory, and while it could do 3D, it was very muddy compared to my TNT 2 back then. SiS 8mb intergrated graphics: Had one on a work computer, and it was absolutely terrible in quality. The SiS 8mb AGP cards sucked equally badly too.
my last computer only had a intel extreme graphics 2 gpu on it. i actually tried to play max payne2 and age of mythology on it. i had to play @800x600 and it was still slow.
Radeon 9250 SE PCI...well, that is slow, berly breaking the 4k in 3D Mark 2001 and 640 points in 3D Mark 2003. But it is still a lot faster than pretty old TNT2 Pro 16MB.......
Hey I had a FX5200 Ultra and it was nice for back then. I dont know what you guys are talking about. I found out later that the fan had locked up on it but it still ran all my games fine! I did replace the fan and sold it to a friend, he plays rome total war and ut2004 just fine. A decent card I think.
well my crap™ mx4000 32 bits worst card ever.... Man I shall upgrade sooner or later.... when I´ll upgrade my actual card with a 5900/6600gt I´ll fill a bucket with alcohol, then put the mx4000 there, then throw a match in fire... mwhahahaha!!!!!
