Do you guys ever have the problem where your 6800 automatically adjusts the core clock speed down to default? I have mine overclocked to around 375 and once in a while, it will automatically downclock the core to 350. When the card does this in game, it completely crashes my game for 30-40 seconds and gets very annoying. Is there any way to fix this? PS: speed at 375+ is artifact free in 3dMark03. BFG 6800OC 66.93 Win XP Rivatuner RC15.2 No extra pipes. My temps stay around 50.
There is a way, but its risky. Use a program called NiBitor (google it) to modify your bios, you can save your bios by using a program called NVflash (google it aswell), modify the bios to be 375 (or what ever u deem runs stable) then flash your card to the new bios, do a search on the forums there are loads of threads which explain how to do this. BUT like i said its risky, YOU CAN SCREW UP YOUR CARD!!!.
Sometimes core clock throttles when u softmod the pipes and VS units. If you done any of this, please revert back to default and see if it happens again. Sorry for my bad english.
Hmmm... I think it might be my powersupply. Could a 4.76 5v line be the source of the problem? Also, I should probably change the molex line right? Right now I think I have it shared with a harddrive.
4.76 is low on a 5v line. Better try with a seperate molex with nothing more than AGP attached to it.
What kind of power supply do you have? What is the maximum current in your 12v line: this is very important if you OC, since most of the GPU's power is drawn from the 12v line. 5v-line is less important even though 4.75 is very low indeed.
Your psu seems to be ok, unless of course you have some other hefty 12v users on your psu. What else do you have in your case? What cpu, what kind and how many hdd's. Because if you've got a powerfull cpu and some (more than one) hdd's in your configuration, only one 20A 12V-line would be a limiting factor.
