    I got 6 Gainward 6800 LEs today.
    They are all locked.

I flashed several Bioses and had sucess =)
An Asus 6800 GT 128 MB Bios worked for me!
    Unlocking is possible!

could you send me the bios via mail?
    did you flash with nvflash?
could you unlock every one of the 6 cards?
can i make a backup of my old bios?

    thanks ;)

Would be nice if this works for everyone :)
    But I don`t see a reason why it shouldn`t... :D

Yep - you can make a backup - i did one myself - flashing is one thing - flashing without bios backup another...

I think its not allowed to post a link here.... but anyway...

Try this one and leave the spaces out:
    http://www. m v k t e c h .net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,26/

    I used nvflash 442:
    nvflash -p -u -2 -f Filename.rom

Don`t remember what the comand for backup was...
just type nvflash and it will list the options ^^

    gl - hf

    Edit:
I could unlock every card. Not sure wich one works with 12/16 pipes 5/6 VS; still testing =)

And MANY THANKS to Unwinder for his great work!

I've just bought a AOpen 6800LE, unfortunately, it's locked. I tried different bios's, from the same card but unlocked, Sparkle Bios's and the Asus6800GT bios AwE666 recommended. The pipes en shaders just won't unlock :( Does anybody has an idea what else I can try?
For Unwinder (or somebody else who may need it), here is my locked Aopen6800LE http://h ome.wanadoo.nl/yoyordi/Aopen.6800LE.locked.128.300.700.rev3.ROM (simply remove the space :) )

    Re: BFG 6800 unlock

Can you provide all of your card info from RivaTuner here so we can compare? (VGA Bios and all the other nice stuff).

    Thanks.

    @AwE666

    I have a locked Gainward 6800le too.
And I have flashed the ASUS 6800GT Bios with the same procedure you had discribe, (nvflash 442) (nvflash -p -u -2 -f)
but I still can`t activate the pipelines.

If you really unlocked these cards, could you post more details of your unlock process? Which Forcewaredriver did you use?

    Thanks
    Miesel

    sl3000gt94,

When you get your info from RivaTuner, can you also provide the VGA bios information? You will have to place a check mark for the "NVIDIA VGA Bios Information" in the available categories section where you got your other info. After checking that line, click the little camera to capture the info in
    the report window.

I have the exact same card as you and I am trying to find differences.

    Thanks.

ok...tried a couple of bioses and none of them allow me to unlock. I've tried the following:

    asus gt
    pny nu/gt/u
    bfg nu/gt

all the GTs and Ultras bioses i've tried gave garbage screen (except the asus gt one....maybe because the asus one orginially has 128mb). i had to blindly reflash without a pci card.

    crappy hardware lock

As you can see your BIOS version ends in 61 (a version slightly earlier than mine.

Is your BIOS version anywhere available for download (or email)? I would be willing to flash mine to see if I could unlock the pipes/shader. I can't seem to find your version of the BIOS anywhere.

Oh ****! I have the exact same problem. BFG 6800oc from bestbuy. Came with 12v1, 6vp. If someone can tell me how to get the bios info, I'll gladly post it up. As for whoa, keep on searching, you arent the only one out there :)

Here is a pic showing what's going on:

hmmm, you probably don´t have hardware lock cards. That´s why your flash has been succes. I´ve tried your bios and nothing. Things are the same.

i think that if you were able to unlock after bios flash is because you either have a card that is bios locked or driver locked. like Meridius said you probably dont have a card that is hardware locked.

hehe i was doing the same thing last night.
i believe these hardware locked cards really have working 16pipes if not they wouldnt go through the trouble to hardware lock them.....they could've just did what they use to do

Hmm. My softmod does not stick either and I have a PNY 6800nu purchased on black friday. I did find a site that listed a Hardmod though and this weekend I will take a look at my resistor configuration and then hack up my card.

Gotta wait until this weekend though since I will have one hell of a final on friday.

Either that or they found an extremely simple way to deter people from getting free performance.

I think This hardmod won´t solve this lock. As I wrote above. This lock is different from lock rivatuner could whip up. :)
