Shadow pixelation or something?
(Unsure what, as I just said in the Skyrim thread the major update is still not actually released from how these latest discussions about it have gone and what has come forth to prove this, seems I was entirely wrong about that, anyway it means the game has a number of severe bugs and issues still.)




Fable 3 stuff, finishing that off then once available (patch that is.) I'll redo Witcher 2, not happy with some choices made so it's not too bad aside from the 10 - 12 hours of progress lost but I don't mind that much, it's highly replayable and it's a good game.

EDIT: Answered above, rather well known and discussed issue and planned for revision in the patch as I understood it.

 

Everyone knows bout dithering, didn't think it was a glitch.

Also Jonas, what? You beat The Witcher 2 already? Man, they said 40 hours, it hasn't even been released that long!

 

It's just shadow edge filtering/dithering. Nothing is perfect and some trade-offs must be made to keep the performance up.

 

Anarion I'm not buying this. The whole graphic department is simply too amazing to ruin it in the end with something like this.

Also, I've seen something similar to this in early builds, but applied across the whole screen. OK I've found it:

 

I haven't beaten Witcher 2 yet Mkilbridge (14 hours, chapter 1, Krayan or what it's name was will soon be dealt with.) what I meant was that I'm likely starting over once this actual patch is released as to fix a number of bugs and to correct certain choices (Did I have to blow up the castle for example, should I have lied about the amulet, how much info should be revealed to the officials in that town and such stuff, every choice seems to have repercussions both good and bad so replayability is very high.)

its actually pixelated shadows just like by GTA4 before 1.05 patch.. I liked that shadow technique more then the later with crap bilinear filtering..

But i agree it looks like sheit on those characters.

 

If you turn on ubersampling the shadows look much better and that effect almost disappears.

 

Hey, just wanted to say, Dragon age 2 looks pathetic compared to Witcher 2 !! .

you could always just disable shadows that should fix the dithering

 

Some of the dialogue in Witcher 2 is the best I've ever seen in a game.

(Fable 3 romance and finale, now to free roam and do all side quests and other hidden items plus the two quest packs.)

 

Witcher 2 , 1920x1080/ Highest settings NO Ubersampling.
Getting realy nice FPS , between 30(Lowest,) to 60, mostly stays 40-50fps.






I must say, its best looking game ever (overall graphical impression).
And looks MUCH better in game than on screenshots!
