hi i dont have one of these cards yet but most people are getting 10k in the gpu department like say Laykun or does he have CF sorry he must have CF as guru benchmarks show 7455 for single card
I don't have crossfire as of yet ( yes, it's coming ). My score is a single card score with 840/1100 clocks. ottoyu34, I think that's a pretty good score and about right for that setup, especially since Vantage is heavily influenced by the CPU. BTW, I was also using the Cat 8.7 Beta drivers, which have been known to add to vantage scores considerably, in the region of around 200 I've heard.
weird questions.. Currently I have MSI - NX8800GT-T2D512E OC on my computer.. Today my new 4870 came. Well I do have a capable enough power supply (700W).. I just thought of an idea. You must have heard, recently Nvidia bought Ageia company and integrated their PhysX capabilities on new generation graphics cards including 8800 GT with new drivers (177.39+). So is it possible to use 8800 GT as PhysX card and ATI as graphics card? You could call me crazy of course but some PhysX effects is really great and I don't know if Havok really would be equal to it. And then another thing.. I'm encoding video (generally with x264 for PC / PSP).. And I heard ATI's AVIVO xCode is about %80 faster than any other software encoding. Is this really true or only PR BS. And for the last.. When CUDA applications become widely available (there is a video encoder developed right now for example) is it possible to use it with a configuration as I told earlier? It may be too technical but I know you can give me sufficient answers..
MY HIS 4870 and 3RD Party Cooler are on the way so I should see it by next week. MY last ATI was a 2001 Beta ATI card that was not out for some time. Till it blew up one day. To tell u the truth I expected Nvidia would of not sat on they're ass for so long since the 8800's came out.
Between My 4870 + 4850 in Crossfire ive got a question.... Q9450 @ 3.5ghz 4870 (490/1100) 4850(660/1085) In 3dmark06 Im getting around 19.3k as a score, doesnt this seem kinda low for a Crossfire setup?
Check the Pixel and Texture rates! My HIS HD4870 only scored ~15,300 in '06. BTW: I've got the core and speed memory sliders all the way to the right and it runs perfectly stable. I just played some NFS Carbon at over 100fps!
nice scores man i cant wait till end of the month as the 4870x2 are ment to be out then, then i can finaly upgrade as im finding it hard not to buy CF at moment
yea. I hope all the waiting for a better software support is worth it. Might be first official ATI card is all black?. But Nvidia is putting some preasure on with the prices.
not really cuz people are getting wiser now,NVIDIA should have sold those cards cheaper @ first,i can just imagine them sitting saying"hey we know we're gonna have the best cuz AMD can't win us so let bump it up a notch and sell the GTX280 for 650-700usd woopie dooo",then POW there comes AMD with a 199usd and 310usd card thats in close proximity and @ times lead for less than half the price.......what I'm saying here is what nvidia is doing now with pricing is not for us the consumers but to not be in SECOND PLACE,even nvidia's fanboys should say thanks the AMD/ATI or else we would be out of kidneys and 1st borns to buy those nvidia cards
found 4870X2 specs and benchmark and some one with 4870CF compare at same settings please http://www.coolclocks.nl/nieuws/id169/4870X2_gespot__Benchmark/
