The only problem with the original is that the original controller doesn't support always on listening. I use a Harmony remote to control my AVR/TV/Shield and I never play games on the shield so the controller is somewhere in my closet.

I'm just hoping I can use my Google Home or assistant on my phone to control the Shield but I doubt you can considering the commands between assistant on phone/home/androidauto seem to be separated.

i am just amazed at how many people are willing to compromise their privacy for convenience.
i do not want any "smart" device with microphones, cameras, motion detectors, etc...
just think of trying to watch your sunday football when some scriptkid in belarus is getting his jollies. not pretty.

It can't set reminders or alarms.
Which I thought would be some of the first features Google home would have addressed. (facepalm)

i agree at 200%, even more with Google...

Everything touched by Google become... not good for privacy.
Even Apple is better on this point (and you know it is already not good).

I have this on my OnePlus 5, it's quite a mouthful to pronounce "OK GOOGLE" or at least the way I say it sounds funny/weird to me. Can't say I used it at all though, other than in the initial phone setup...
