Being that the option doesn't appear in the control panel it probably creates more problems than it helps. There was a driver some time ago (e.g. 260.52) where it did appear in the control panel though. I don't recall it being useful.

I've been using it for quite a while now (more or less since it got available) and haven't had any problems with it.

Just ran heaven benchmark, scores were the same with it on or off.

I think it had the potential to affect some applications, but can't remember any of them.

Sorry for bumping this old thread but any new info on this option? Should we bother with this option at all or should we just leave it alone (off)?

Nah keep it off, like someone else said NV enabled it once in nvcpl but it didnt have any real boost.

I remember testing this back with Heaven Benchmark (~ 250.xx - 260.xx driver) and the best option was off.

I tired it again in RIFT (335.23) and yeah it caused more fps issues then it fixed stuff.

I tested this only by cpu bound games and it had Fps issues.

Inconsistent and more fps drops then usual.

Im not gonna bother with it again, if you don't mind it ok. :)

Well sure ;) I was just curious, that's all. If I know what to look for I may be able to get around those issues myself.

I usually ignore things like NV Inspector because I don't know what I'm doing, but I must admit: you peaked my curiosity. I will let you know if I notice anything weird happening with it on.

EDIT: Played Diablo 3 and DayZ today and didn't notice anything weird, so I kept it on.

If there's a scene with absolute repeadability, you may want to record the frametimes with Fraps and compare them. There should be a difference visible if the game makes use of these options.

I tested in HardReset, Resident Evil5 - fixed bench, LP2 - Fixed bench, Hitman A - bench, all cpu bound and yeah there were some fps drops that weren't there before.. Not by all though, some had only lower avg fps, 2-3fps.. Rift had more pronounced streaming which made it stutter..

I think this dynamic tilling is kinda like a API hack to cache more driver commands, but sometimes it can overlap itself and cause negative effects, like mentioned it that quote above.

But then again, back then there were more values, now its just on/off.

Something can't be right then, but how does this relate to the topic?

After this thread, I saw it there for the first time. Will probably try it soon and post results.
