I am used to look at prices in US way. MSRP of $700 is in USD and w/o tax. Therefore I do currency adjustment and add our tax.
In that way Original price of cheapest 2080 here is $715 and that pretty close to $700. I am not saying it is good enough for me to like this, but 2080Ti has it worse. As that comes at base price of $1200. Adding our 21% tax makes final price ugly as it can get. It is pretty unpleasant price jump over 2080 without providing even 1/2 of that jump in performance.

This sounds more like fear. Their RTX range is underperforming and if AMD releases cards comparable to 2080 it might be a game changer (though price is a bit if-y, but not surprising). The fact that ray tracing is still gimicky and only available on 1(correct me if i'm wrong) game and dlss is the same it is quite stupid to talk about their benefits as there is no actual data to prove it with more than 1 game...
I mean if nVidia would be selling 7nm cards, i bet they'd be like :
    " first ever 7nm card*"
    * 7nm features and benefits to be enabled in unspecified amount of time...

This guy is just a redneck. His statement would be right only if AMD own same amount of money as Nvidia. Considering how small AMD's funds are they're doing great work and are really competitive. Also AMD is focused on bigger market. I think too many people forget about that. Give AMD same money as Intel or Nvidia own and we'll see who is lousy.

In my opinion AMD is company we all should support. They're real innovators and they're pushing limits in so many areas. Without AMD we would still sit on 4 cores from Intel and overpriced GPU's from Nvidia.

To be fair he’s not far wrong. AMD still have nothing to beat the RTX 2080 Ti.

That's just flat out disrespectful, and makes you look really ignorant considering you're a CEO. - EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS

You don't need to beat the GPU nobody is buying. If you look at the market share of GPUs, the 2080 Ti is far from popular. Horrible value. The only people buying it are folks who don't care about being ripped off because they have too much money.

He's not wrong. It's terrible. We are doomed to mainstream cards for 1000 US$. That's the equivalent of a kidney in my country.

i don't get it, how come while being as powerful on paper, there's so much disparity in real world application/games ?!

"Small minded, limited consumers " ? Are you serious?

Thanks to those small minded, limited consumers, those computing custom hardware exist, and doesn't cost 10 times more.
It's being short shighted to not realize that.

As horribly priced as they are, the RTX2080ti’s keep getting selling out. People want the best performance. They are popular but the price isn’t. If AMD had made a new card that beat it in terms of performance then Nvidia would have been forced to lower the price of the 2080ti. Sadly that wasn’t the case and now Nvidia gets to carry on price gouging which sucks for everyone

TMU/ROPs translate to texture/pixel fill rate. AMD sits at one ROP per Compute Unit. Therefore it has 60 ROPs and 108 Giga Pixels/s.

    RTX 2080 has 109.4 Giga Pixels/s and 2080 Ti has 136 Giga Pixels/s.

And in applications using compute, there is direct translation as long as memory latency does not results in wasted cycles.

Doesn't say much. "Sold out" doesn't mean they're popular. It just means they sold out.

MSRP for 2080 FE is $799 (which is basically factory OC'ed). MSRP for plain 2080 is $699.

Note that the benchmarks shown by AMD were in 4K, presumably because thats where its the most competitive.

They were comparing it to the 2080, not the 1080Ti.
