Did you try it yourself and you saw stuttering or what ? Because i can see many 7970s doing fine with ultra textures at 1080P.

Did you install the texture pack itself first or did you just set texture quality to ultra? since they (Monolith or Valve) still haven't put up the texture pack on the Steam store page you have to use the steam://install/ command to force the download.
(For some reason you can set the texture quality to ultra without having the optional download.)

Just thought I should ask, I haven't noticed any issues with ultra textures either so it might just be some occasional stuttering if you have fast RAM and a good GPU. :)

EDIT: DLC / texture pack file size is 3.7 GB when downloading from Steam but the archives when downloaded (Since Steam can download compressed files.) is a full 9.7 GB.
(It's the various *_0.arch5 files, should be 19 of them.)

Ultra textures with shadows and AO on high vram usage is 2,8gb :)

2gb Vram here and smooth silk during 50 minutes of walking around and kill random orcs.

I will monitor Vram usage later today.

Do you people still think high vs ultra difference is justified? Given the vram it needs?

Sure i saw some games that have same/similar textures and used less than 2gb. On top we see 3gb cards doing exact same job as 6gb cards do, game just caches stuff if you have vram to spare it seems. I never thought i'd say it, but i miss x360 ports already.

Thank tex_UK for your results. So titan Vram usage confirm, that this game can use all 6GB at only 1440p... unbelievable:puke2:.

10-20 fps on 780 vs 40-59 fps on 980 GTX
That difference in min fps is spectacular, looks like 3GB on 780 is clearly not enough. IMHO I will not buy anything less with 6GB in my next GPU (and 8 would be my lucky number:infinity:).

WOW, the game runs like a charm (high textures, tesselation off, 2560x1440) and it's bloody good - really have to pay attention in the fights. I'd say it's much harder than BATMAN Arkham Origins.

Nice to hear that :) Bummer the prices went up that much, but it's always like that.

Preorder, pay less without knowing what you're really buying.
Buy after release date, pay more but know what you are buying.

4GB can, but no AA. Also it's very hard at 1440p. 1080p is fine.

Any definitive info regarding all this? I want to run this game @ 1080p 4x MSAA (or at least SMAA) @ Ultra Textures and Ultra Settintgs - will my GTX 780 Ti 3GB handle it without stutter or would I absolutely have to get GTX 980 to get smooth framerate?

There is no MSAA or SMAA.
