    I have a HP Envy x360 15-bq1xx laptop.
Recently just bought a Addlink 70x 1tb Nvme ssd and would like to replace my current Sandisk 128gb M.2 Sata SSD. The laptop also has a 1tb hdd inside.

I've been doing research and It seems I can use an enclosure and then clone data. But I'm not sure whether to buy an enclosure for the 1tb drive or the old one? Preferably I would like to use the old drive as a portable usb drive but not sure how to go about using hot swapping with the old drive booted externally. And I've also read people face issues with nvme drivers etc.

A step by step guide or link to one would be much appreciated

I think you need one like this for the new drive. That way you can clone the old drive while windows is running over usb. Going by the description this is only going to fit the new drive. I don't know if the make one for both types. https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-EC-NVME-Aluminum-Enclosure-Nvme/dp/B07K4TZQ7D Just make sure to test the newly installed cloned drive before formating the old one.
