    hi guys,

im a bit new to graphic cards, and just got my new one.
I spent a fortune getting my 7800 Bliss, and when I got I immediately installed, and after some power on- issues, I finally got it to work.

I must remind you again that i am new to graphic cards, even though I assembled my own computer.

So, I tried to play some WoW to start with,
I had high expectations of getting at least 60 fps, in public places, and more than 80 in not so public places, well, that was not the case.
Even If i got about 54 fps in not public places, it still kinda disappionts me.

I had an ATI X800 XT before, and the difference is not so big.

    My specs are:
    3 ghz P4
2048 Mb Ram memory (dual channel)
    250 gb Sata2 Hdd
    200 Ide Hdd
    Motherboard is an Ai7.

    Powersupply 480W from Thermaltake.

I use the drivers I got from the Cd, since I want to try 3dmark before changing driver, I will update with a score from that later.

I usually only play Wow, and some Oblivion and Act of War somethimes.
Can I do something about the FPS issue? or is this all that it got??

A lousy question it may seem.. but very important for me, so I would really appreciate an anwser..

    Cheers!

just use coolbits, nvtweak or riva tuner to over clock the first two just add more options to the driver control pannel.

when you overclock that thing you should see a good jump and if you can overclock that cpu. pentiums arnt great for games anyhow so it could use a boost

Ill check the specs for the PSU,
and the driver im using is 84.21 forceware.

Im getting 91.28 as we speak.

You mentioned 1450 as a number to overclock too, I cant get it that high,, i suppose I should set it to 725, am I right?

Yes thats right 2x725 =1450 ,the 7800gs will take a hit as it runs SM 0.3 as the X8ooXT only uses SM 0.2 in DX9.c

Im having a similar problem with my geforce 7800 GS OC. I've done all that i can think of to get better performance out of it but I just cant. I had an ATI 9600xt before and performance is the same

well, going from x800xt to 7800gs will really not give u a huge boost... the x800xt (modded and oced) is still a respectably fast card...

Maybe u just expected way too much from that upgrade?

like he said at the beginning double check that ALL the right power cable are connected and you havent left something in the box. i forgot my one and it had a major impact on its performance obviously. i think frag master was the one who told me to check the cables actually.

I expect a great performance boost when paying $400 for a video card. especially when my hardware well exceeds the minimum requirements.

AFAIK WoW doesnt use any sm 3.0 effects and the 7800gs will eat the game no matter what, try to reinstall your chipset drivers also the 3d mark score seems to be quite ok. Are you running AA or not. like someone said check the rails on the PSU or tell us which PSU you have.
BTW why do people force someone to OC the card if it doesnt seem to be the issue. The GFX is pretty powerfull and dont mention Vmod thats not for everyone, firstly try to take it the SW way if no go then OC your CPU a little bit and finally if it doesnt help try to OC/Vmod you GFX - but before try to set the GFX in another PC to see if the card is OK or not.

well, the thing is these agp 7800gs(+) cards are not the best value for money... Buying a pcie card for $400 would be different, you'd be getting a much better card... You only got a $300 in equivalent to pcie cards...

    The card Rocks! (540/1480mhz)

How many times and into how many different threads will you post exactly the same thing?

Ok, we got the message you prefer PCI-E cards...but PLZ DUDE! :puke2:
