I have an 8700k right now overclocked to 5ghz across all cores. That's 6 cores and 12 threads. No, I and others don't need to upgrade... they need to fix the stutter. Edit: I also want to add that my buddy built his system pretty identical to mine with an 8700k and 2080, however he hasn't overclocked either and he has the exact same stutters. We both have 16gb RAM, however he has faster RAM. I have my game installed on a PCIe NVMe at 4x speed and he has it on a regular SATA SSD. We both get the same stutters which makes me think it might just be another RTX issue with either the game itself or a Nvidia driver. We both have issues with Hitman 2 crashing as well, which we found to be most likely an RTX issue as several official forums posts kind of confirm this with the vast amount of RTX users having random crashes.
i got hitman 2 crashes and have a 960gtx not sorted that out yet though i tried a bit, now just waiting for a update to the game. playing ac odyssey atm anyway and ac runs better than i expected. i think i tried 2 different nvidia driver updates though, tried different screen and gfx settings, did not try as some suggested rolling back to older nvidia drivers if you saw crashing in the newer drivers cant recall the driver version off the top of my head tho. So not sure lest for that game it is rtx related or not.
I am talking about my case with quad core and no hyperthreading, not six cores. I have over 90% CPU usage most of the time and sometimes over 95%. I have to increase the graphics settings actually so the CPU won't struggle.
That's a real bummer man. I just know there is a LOT of RTX users complaining. They definitely need to sort it out one way or another. It's especially bad for me on Hitman 2 as I like to play on the hardest difficulty which only allows for 1 save... It's harsh.
I think it depends on the maps as well. Summit runs pretty decent. Not much of stuttering and FPS drops there.
I noticed some maps are definitely worse than others. There are also big stutters that occur when multiple enemies or friendlies spawn. It's better than the beta, so I'm still confident that they will improve on it.
Zero Stutter here butter Smooth Ryzen 5 2600 + 1060GB All setting set on very high i disable only keep loader texture
How is the game btw? I mean I've seen some gameplay videos, and I have to say I feel like I'm going to enjoy this one with friends! I am kinda tired of Battlefield
@serbicu If you like realistic gunplay, you'll love it. It's not anything like BF, you can't pump 10s of bullets into people, it's basically one or two bullets (and that includes handguns). Each class has a specific purpose that can seriously help the team when used properly. I love it but it's not for everyone. Oh, and they just added the MG3 (Modern MG42), how can you not like that
Game is f2P this weekend. Game crash on launch on win10 may update v1903 - same with world war 3. Unreal engine 4 issue it seems.
I'm on 1903 and don't have any issues with crashing. I'm not denying that you do, but I did want to point that out in case that can help you troubleshoot. I know certain versions of Easy Anti-Cheat had problems with 1903 but that was supposed to be fixed and most likely is not the issue here.
Thanks for the heads up for 1903 i'll investigate on my side, really wanna try the game ! edit: my bad - not problem with 1903 was related to unreal engine 4 engine being installed with some settings that impacted packaged games oO. https://issues.unrealengine.com/issue/UE-58013
