Sure its possible but if you are using games for stability test.. Its probably not stable, try out msi kombustor stress test for 30 mins and see if it artifacts/crashes
Is there a list of clocks so I can compare? Or some good threads with results from other people? The HD6950 seems to overclock very well while being cool. I barely reach 70C
Mine is clocked @880/1350 using 1.10v. Temps depend on cooling, I have the Dirt 3 with 6 heatpipes and 2 fans...runs 35c idle, 58c loaded.
u should be able to if it clocks well, my last 6950 flashed to 70 at 1.05v was at 900mhz never tried higher at that voltage, but 1.1v hit 950mhz...my first 6950 flashed to 70 did pretty much the same just clocked a lot higher overall and didnt mind voltage as much. also as far as stability, usually gaming for hours is a great way to test, ive tested cards before with a lot of benchmarks/furmark and never had an issue then went to game and ended up crashing..
im at 950mhz 1375 @ 1.120v on my asus reference...my reference his needs 1.170v for the same clocks...for less demanding games i just run the asus card at 880mhz at 1.100v
luky luky guys... mine needs 1.26v to be at 920/1475 whith an thermalright shaman... and at 1.1v it can only go to 860mhz... crapy card but at least is unlocable
I reach 80 degrees on 800/1250 with OCCT stress test If I do the same stress tests on MSI Kombustor I barely get 60-70 degrees At least 900/1350 at 1150mv are some nice clocks. My maximum goal is 900-950 for the core clock. But I want to know if I am safe
djjonastybe how long do you test for in OCCT, i've literally only just downloaded and installed it. Never used it before. Im doing GPU testing also, two 6950s, running 990Mhz Core 1250Mhz Memory (I OC seperate or should i do together?) running 1.21v I ran OCCT for 6mins, 1min idle then the test, it passed, max temp was 39C, i ran 1680*1050. Should i run for longer? Im really looking for 1000Mhz on the core, then i'll start pushing memory, hoping for around 1350 there.
