Just one week for the new season to begin! Are you excited? :infinity: Merc only looking 1+ sec per lap faster from testing, instead of 2+ like they were last year. Almost sounds exciting! Starting a new thread since.. well, couldn't find the old f1 thread (..guess it got deleted?) Here's the schedule.
This season should be interesting: can Ferrari win another race, will McLaren-Honda finish any race, and does a 17 year old (Verstappen yay! Sainz II only 20yo himself) belong in F1. Lotus should be 10 places forward on the grid now, not in the least because some other backmarkers have disappeared lol. And will Alonso stop at the right box during his first pitstops for McLaren...or will he start looking for Benetton overalls...
Based on preseason i'd say 1. Merc 2. Ferrari (pretty sure they were sandbagging after jerez) 3. Williams 4. RB 5. er...
It would be hard to beat Mercs, I hope Kimi/Seb will give silver arrows a battle. Cant deny Williams either. Guess RB will be close but not close enough. McLaren will be rather useless again i suspect.
I am a huge car fanatic but every year I struggle more to get full-on into F1... It's a shame that the rest of motorsports don't have that much coverage where I live. I would love to see the same interests in Touring races (which IMO are more interesting due the fact that there are still actual cars driving around, not some weird Hybrid-missiles) But oh well... Let's see how this year goes!
It's not just you, F1 has a big problem with losing audiences. I was a defender of the turbos when they came in last year, it's the future, high-tech etc but after actually watching the cars at the Hungarian GP, I had to admit they sounded boring and looked ugly. Anyway, I'm still a big F1 and Lewis fan and am looking forward to the season ahead.
I know what you mean F1 is losing its popularity. I wish they showed DTM on some channels and i can never find a good feed online!
Sauber have an even larger chance of scoring more than zero points this season with three drivers entitled to a race seat.
I hope, that they change something radically, because fans are leaving. There were some rumors about 1000 bhp and better aerodynamics, but... This season: 1st - Mercs 2nd/3rd - Ferrari/RedBull 4th - Williams
Sauber didn't go out in FP1. Sauber boss flirting with Aussie prison. She's a "contract" laywer apparently which makes the whole signing 4 drivers for 2 seats thing even more ridiculous. I hope Sutil goes on the offensive soon as well, Saubers contract moves and false claims at court have been abominable and that's being kind. Also it appearts VDG paid Sauber 8 MILLION last year upfront for his 2015 season contract/seat - aka one of the reasons why the team even managed to not go under like the other two teams... I kinda feel dirty for semi-liking Sauber once. Anyway, sooo late, gonna check tomorrow for FP2 results Oh yeah, Rubens has it figured out apparently. Use one of these
I used to like F1 when I was younger and the races aired live. Now all I ever seem to see is recorded races that are aired several days, weeks or months later. For some reason, NASCAR is the only racing I can find being aired live...and it looks like it's rigged now.
Pretty boring GP. Both mercs are in their own league. Ferrari need to sent their pit crew for a training. Such a disappointment for a race, well hardly a race.
