Don't understand all the hype over the Fallout games personally.

    3 was fun. Nice story.

Except for that DLC (I think?) where you are trapped in a 50's neighborhood forever. That was frustrating.

And I hear New Vegas was even better.

Some people have looked at the HTML Code and it contains "fallout4.com" aswell as the following text:

"PA system failure has occured. Shutdown of the Masterbrain has been authorised and all sensitive materials have been removed for security purposes. Please attempt re-access. Have a pleasant day."

Masterbrain is a Robot in Fallout 3.

The only time you were stuck in a 50s place was a short part of the main quest, and you weren't stuck there forever.

Depending on how you decided to go about it, you could literally finish that area in five minutes.

I know you're joking but that would be heaven! I never really got into Fallout 3 (New Vegas was OK), but Fallout 1 and 2 are in my top 10 games of all time. The VATS system in 3 was just weird from an FPS perspective. I'd love it if they could introduce some mix of FPS and top down perspective, perhaps a Dragon Age Origins system except it's first person when fully zoomed in?

The vats system was actually put in place because of the consoles controls afaik.

The VATS system was weird cause it was purely for the players bonus, only you got it.

F3 would be a radically different game if on entering VATS, each player/enemy got placed on a queue based on agility then took a turn shooting all they can into each other

Instead what it is is pretty much a max payne style bullet time.

Might have been stylised more towards consoles, but the whole turn based system was integral to f1/2/T so I wouldn't have put it past them if it was a pc only release to have some form of it. Was never going to be a purely fps/tps game, you can see this from the terrible real time aiming and controls, something NV tried to fix a bit

Ah that explains a lot thanks guys. TBH I'd be over the moon if they went back to the tactical Isometric viewport, there's clearly a market after the success of the awesome Pillars of Eternity. It wasn't just that though, the perks and player customisation all led to unique experiences everytime I played 1+2.

In fact dying and starting again was something I loved with the originals, a new wanderer of the wastes each time, with an original story to tell at the end :)

Unfortunately I doubt an isometric game would do that well on ps4/x1, we'll see with the upcoming releases of wasteland 2 and divinity original sin, but xcom bombed quite hard.

I just hope they took most of the good changes obsidian made on board, not least armour and weapon repair buffers, ironsights and DT/DR

Will we have 30 NPCs played by 5 voice actors like typical Bethesda games?

Oh christ this please, so sick of hearing liam o'brien

Problem is it's too much work for them really, witcher 3 is good and varied for conversation NPCs, not noticed horrible repetition so far (outside of random crowd chatter) but that was 2.5 years of voice recording and like 70 VA's

If it really is Fallout 4, my guess would be modified Skyrim engine - or maybe a new in-house engine? For some reason I don't think Bethesda would borrow an engine and pay a % of earnings to the license holder.

I'm not very excited about this game tbh. That said I can see myself buying it somewhere down the line, I just wish it wasn't Bethesda developing it and it was Obsidian Entertainment instead.
