Hahahaha Rival GPU companies stuff working together. This has to be the best method of trying to create hype before the GDC.

Just not gonna happen even if it could work. Nvidia will simply block their cards from working with amd. Or something similar.

Depends on your definition of "work"..... It did in fact function. In most cases, it produced negative scaling though when compared to Crossfire or SLI.

You're talking about Lucid Virtu, which is very different from Lucid Hydra.

Lucid Virtu used iGPU. Lucid Hydra was for dedicated cards.

The idea behind Lucid Hydra was that you could combine an AMD Radeon graphics card (like the Radeon X850XT) with an NVidia GeForce card (like a GeForce 6800Ultra) and the cards would work in tandem to render a scene. The workload would be divided between the cards by a load balancing chip.

Oops my mistake :). Same principle though, both are hack methods whereas this new type is built directly into the API. Unfortunately games will probably still be glorified ports, meaning at best DirectX 11.3, or not full use of DirectX 12.

Why would they be 11.3 ports if the consoles are also using DX12?

For users not upgrading to win10, but sticking to win7 or 8(.1).

Normally I think I would agree, but I think this is also one reason why Microsoft is offering Windows 10 for free. They're actually pushing their operating system, and giving good reason to upgrade.

    Intel Iris

Sounds like a tasty recipe for 4K soup. If it actually works, and works well, I would totally do that with the new Skylake coming out in August and do a complete new build since I'm still running an old Phenom II. Having all those different parts in one computer working in harmony excites the anti-fanboy in me.

You're assuming Intel is finally going to bring Iris to the desktop.

You still legally own the previous version of Windows, so it's your choice whether or not to downgrade. MS can't void your previous license.

    You and me both.....

There are still some companies you can trust though. They're just getting fewer and fewer every day.

Is there any confirmation on this, or are you just stating your point? I too am sceptical about win10 and anything 'free' from m$.

I don't want to diss you two, but you're late. But welcome to the club :D

I noticed SFR mode is already in NVIDIA Inspector, and ofc i know it won't work with DX11.. just saying.
