Does the processor you have affect the your 3dmark score? Don't the scores of 3dmark05 & 3dmark03 depend purely on your GPU (such that you can score even though you are running a pentium 3 on a 6800 Ultra)?
05 and 03 are both very gpu dependent, so yea in those two benches the video card makes well over half the score.
CPU has its effect, though not a very big one. But OCing your cpu by a couple of 100 mhz surely will increase your benchmarkscore by some margin. But the difference is in the hundreds, not in the thousands. The 2001 version is very cpu-dependent, just as Aquamark3
Yes. I used to has 6600GT AGP on a p3 1.13 tualatin core. My 3DMark05 was 21xx. Now with my Athlon64 Winchester 3000+ overclocked to 2.52GHz, my 6600GT PCIe scored 45xx in 3DMark05. Of course part of the scores may contributed by the forceware driver. But, as you can see, the difference between those CPU is significant.
short answer, yes. just check the ORB for top scores not using FX-55 etc. targ if there any questions ill post the long answer
What Phrozin said... CPU has a huge effect in '03 because of game test one, and to a lesser extent game test two. In '05 it also has an effect, but 100mhz isnt going to matter one way or the other. '01 is 85% CPU at least... A faster CPU will almost always give you better graphics performance, maybe a little, maybe a lot, but always helps.
@ 3.05CPU 585/1150 3DMark05 gets 3994 @ 3.3 CPU 575/1150 3DMark05 gets 4010 anser it has a 20% afect i think 3DMark03 has a 25% afect
You guys are so lucky your are able to OC your CPU. I can't.... How do you monitor cpu temps anyway? I can't seem to be able to do it.
Many people can monitor their temps on an intel mobo. How do I solve this. Please guys, I really need your help! I need to monitor that temperature of mine!!
MBM 5 is HOPELESS!! So is speedfan!! Any more tools? Or is there no thermometer in the processor/board?? BTW, the f**king board is manufactured by DELL!!!!!!
To be fair, MBM5 read your MB sensor's reading. If you cant see any reading, it is either you didn't configure it properly or your MB simply doesn't has a termo sensor inside.. LOl Try Everrest home...
