Hilbert, if you start posting news about CCleaner updates, you'll most likely post this at least once every two weeks.
Seems to do the job all right. Been using CCleaner for years, and more recently, its addon CCEnhancer.
If anyone was interested, the winapp2.ini file downloaded by CCEnhancer is located at http://www.winapp2.com
Thanks, also .... I don,t really get why this is posted as a front page news back then... Slow news day I guess
Oh you are right, there is a forum section for general programs, I could have used that, forgot about it. (Since you mentioned it being a front-page news topic I checked the other parts of the forum and found that app section again.)
Yeah, it gets updated more than browser plugins but that's not a bad thing that it does. I think the paid version auto updates even. Looks like it's a pretty big update: v4.00.4064 (26 Mar 2013) - New improved graphics and icon. - Improved internal architecture for better performance. - New Duplicate File Finder tool. - New System and Browser Monitoring (Pro Version). - Optimized and improved Registry Cleaning. - Added cleaning for Avast Antivirus 8, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Samsung Kies and Real Player 16. - Improved Drive Wiper performance. - Optimized Startup item detection algorithm. - Optimized 64-bit builds on Windows 7 and 8. - Many performance improvements and bug fixes.
OOO nice ^ cleaning out CS6 and Avast is a big plus for me. CCleaner is a great little program, I install it on every single PC that I build and/or work on. It may never be run until I get it back for maintenance 3 yrs later, but sometimes sheep remain sheep no matter what you do...
I've never had the registry cleaner "break" anyone's system I've used it on and the cleaning function is convenient. It is one of my must have and fav apps.
Yeah its registry cleaner is really good, especially compared to those crap ones back in early 2000s that were everywhere. The only thing I leave unchecked is "unused file extensions". Does a good job at removing software leftovers after I've uninstalled something. I just used it to clean up a bunch of creative driver stuff actually. If your machine is really bad though I don't think a registry cleaner helps that much. You're always just better off reformatting.
