I've asked all over and no one has replied, it is really annoying me and I need to get it sorted out!

I bought a new Mobo which has AC wireless built in and this always worked on my last Asus Mobo, but my new ASRock one seems to have problems. I just want to turn the wifi into an AP so I can hook all my wireless devices straight to my PC. The problem is the ASRock board didn't come with the software like the Asus one did and when I try to do it manually, the Ethernet just switched to "Unidentified"...

    So I've followed these steps...

    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NAME key=PASSWORD
    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

That all sets up fine, but here is there problem...

    Sharing off..

    Sharing on...

Obviously I need it to stop doing this to be able to use my wireless device as an AP. I have tried a separate wireless USB stick and have the same result. Some setting to do with the Ethernet port is probably the issue, yes the drivers are all up to date.

You could try to buy a cheap network card so you can rule out problems with your onboard one.

I've had an asus mobo once that the ethernet port would stop working completely if I tried to use a PS/2 kb. The only solution I've found was to get an usb kb as I didn't want to RMA it and stay without a pc for a long time because of that minor issue :p

Windows Firewall was blocking it.. now I just have to work out how to enable the firewall without blocking this.

    Add an exception to it?

I have no idea what I'm trying to make an exception for, could be anything.
