Has anyone tried the AD8620BR with the Prelude. I'm thinking out that one over the OPA637's?

How laid back are the Burr Brown OPA637's?

I have HD600 thru a little dot mkV

I did. The kind of sound is similiar to the default opamp. But the quality is better. For example, more detail, more clearness, and sort. But in the end, i wasted 80 euros...

Well the same op-amps isnt gonna be the same for each person, This why you do op-amp rolling til you find the one which sound the way you want.

Actually I dont really spend any thing on these op-amps ;) well the only one i actuall bought was the OPA627 from auzentech, but that was when i had a prelude.

Many opamps are also very cheap. You can get some good ones for cheap, if you know what to buy.

my prelude mic only works sometimes
other times i can start a call and sound like a dalek (strobing/robtic)

it hasn't worked properly since the card was first released, which to me is disgusting for a £120 soundcard

my cheapo x-fi xtrememusic has no such problems and works ALL the time

I am really hoping they get the microphone issues fixed in this new driver that is expected in the next couple of days. I purchased my Prelude card when it was first released 1 1/2 to 2 years ago and this has been an ongoing issue since then. This needs to be fixed!

It is an issue on all X-Fi cards unfortunately. My gf has also alot of mic problems on her Fatal Pro.
At least the onboard manufacturers are doing it right.

The best thing is to plug the mic into the onboard mic.

Ya that is what I am doing currently, however I sometimes get BSOD from my realtek drivers.. not often with the drivers I am using currently...

I purchased the x-fi fatality card years ago when they first came out and had the same driver/mic issues but they resolved it with in 6 months or something like that...

It just been going on way to long with the drivers for the Prelude.

My mic boost works fine the mic just starts stuttering or completely stops working, at least when using teamspeak.

the boost issues were from R7 onwards for me.. even a clean install or even new drive did not sort this ..
Odd Teamspeak i have never had problems, it was in game voice i had troubles..
i no one thing if you get Darlek mode in voice :) Reboot system i bet this goes :)..

also what mode are you running? analog or ddl/dts . i run analog 90% of time and ingame Analog only ..

yes, rebooting stops the dalek/strobing mic problem, but is very annoying to have to stop skype calls and reboot...
especially when it happens very often (i make a lot of calls on skype) and should not happen at all.

as i mentioned, my cheap xtrememusic has zero problems with the mic

auzen know they have problems with the mic, but have not been able to fix them so far
some people have rma'd cards multiple times, only to encounter exactly the same problem with replacements

    [edit] i use analog only

I think the date hasn't changed because there is no new fixes from the non Win 7 version.

So, everything's working as expected? Then it might be a good time to kiss daniel_k's support packs goodbye. Downloading drivers now. All we need now is for RTM to finally leak.
