Hello Gurus, It's been over a decade since I've owned an AMD processor; and now paired with MSI X570 tomahawk motherboard soon (hopefully) I'll be replacing my old i5 - 4690k. Good thing about Intel - I didn't have to worry too much about driver installation. However, AMD being newer and everything, has got a recent list of a component drivers under motherboard driver section, namely: AM4 RAID Driver AMD Chipset Driver AMD Graphics Drivers BlueTooth Driver Intel WIFI Driver Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Drivers Realtek HD Universal Driver I never worried about having these installed - Windows kind of never asked for. However, I'm not too sure with AMD. Just to be safe - I will have these installed, however my query is: is there a specific order by which I should get these drivers installed into my new Windows machine? Thank you.
RAID drivers are only needed if you have a raid array (Windows will ask for said driver during install. It doesn't matter if you're on an AMD or Intel system). If you're running AHCI mode RAID drivers aren't needed.
just install windows then update the drivers nothing special about an AMD install, get the latest drivers from AMDs site as you would with any driver, the ones that come with the mobo are pretty out of date usually anyway. If your doing Win 10 make sure your online when installing it will normally download all the required drivers during the install anyway
