No matter what Intel blows I'll never buy Intel again, just because their art of doing bussines and antitrust issues:biggun:, they will never get my money. I'll better wait until AMD get their **** together, anyway I'm in no need to upgrade as my X6 just rulez everything I throw on him .
There's a review on www.techspot.com that also uses an ASRock board (990FX Fatal1ty Professional) as the above review used, and it shows the same as everyone else, that bulldozer is a architectural failure.
actually if you read it they clearly say it holds its own but its far too overpriced. Anyway its clearly a repeat of phenom. piledriver will be what phenomII was to phenom. AMD is showing a record of repeating the same mistakes it has in the past. 8 cores is quite the jump. They are probably going to see diminishing returns the more cores they stack on the processor.
Well actually it makes perfect sense. And it's absolutely bat-crap insane. I ran into this at techpowerup but it's from Insideris Well then it makes perfect sense the new chip sucks donkeyballs.
sounds like amd is doing the only thing a losing corporation would do. Corner a market (graphics) and use underhanded tactics to stay afloat in the market they don't stand a chance in. The next few months could get interesting.
Eh!! Novatech have raised their prices from yesterday by what looks like 20 quid on the fx8150.:biggun:
meh no one is saying all companies don't do the same thing. AMD though is trying to play both markets where as intel and nvidia control a niche. Its gonna be a total uphill battle for AMD till they find their middle ground (APU perhaps?) lol they are seeing strong demand. I bet server owners are eating 8 cores up.
from what ive been reading, their APU and video card segment is doing pretty well. so only time will tell.
Well i checked the Gigabyte website to see if they had a bios update - Nope. Prices should go down not up. Unless they know something we dont. Anyway when i have saved enough dosh i will get one, but NOT if they keep going up.
For those who want to see crossfire performance benches here it is, two 6970: http://www.tweakpc.de/hardware/tests/cpu/amd_fx-8150_bulldozer/benchmarks_gaming.php
Wow, didn't know Bulldozer was released...pretty surprised by the results, thought it was going to mop the floor with the 2600k..guess not.
Novatech have also bumped up their prices for the FX series since yesterday as well. Whereas the FX-8150 was priced at £199 yesterday, it is now close to £220.
