    Good Morning. I have a Zotac 480gtx. I stay with v.core default on 830-2000.

I would like to buy the zalman Vf3000F to put on 480gtx. Is possible to mount the zalman gpu cooler without removing the stock thermal plate on gpu and vrm?

    Thanks in advance.

the little problem is that in Italy is in stock only the VF3000F for the 470gtx.
The gpu cooler I think is the same but the thermal plate is different.

basically I was searching info about the zalman gpu cooler with the stock thermal plate ( I will take off the stock fan ;) )

The VF3000 is not cheap. Maybe for the cost of that + what you can get selling the 480, you could get a better, cooler performing card, ie gtx 660.

I know that the Zalman isn't cheap but for now I would like to stay with the 480gtx for others six months.

The VF3000F should come with paste, unless you're buying it used. Also, the one you're looking at supports both the 470 and the 480.

Yes but when I bought mine I had to inform the dealer for which card. Depending on the card the plate will be different, there's 2 different packages, a 470 or a 480 one. It also only fits on reference designs.

I decided for the Accelero twin turbo II.

Now i have a doubt about the heatsink on the vrm. (because I don't think it's possibile to mount the cooler keeping the thermal plate :( )

My doubt is between this three heatsinks.

    V.core default

Crysis 3 1080p, max settings (shadows on high) FXAA

850mhz on the gpu is the limit with v.core default (my 480gtx has a 1.050v v.core default).

I need to raise the v.core to reach 865mhz without artifacts.
Can you tell me the max safe v.core on air with an aftermarket cooler?

I ran my gtx 480 at 1.1v no problem. even 1.113v. that's a nice overclock you have.
