i've seen installs of windows 10 corrupt themselves just through buggy windows updates.

Look, it's great that win10 is working perfectly for you, really it is.
But that's not the universal experience.

lol, the steam poll says otherwise. Plus Microsoft Beam (now Mixer) is awesome, near zero latency streaming!

Where does the Steam poll state how difficult an experience it is?

Actually I love LXDE for linux. You put it on tablet and you see barely 0.5% CPU utilization while CPU is down-clocked to 433MHz.
Considering that average idle CPU utilization of my 4.5GHz locked i5 is around 3% on idle...

    Thats:
10.4x for CPU clock; 2x for IPC; 6x for utilization => 124.8x higher CPU workload on idle.
When windows does those background scans and stuff, it can eat 2 cores since those 2 CPU eaters may occasionally run at same time. Linux does not do this kind of backstabbing.
And even YT playback which battery allows is quite different. Windows 6h, linux 8h.

But Win 10 is still better OS than any older ones from MS.

    Sounds like Hardware issues.

No stability issues with Windows 10 here.

Because I don't waste my time doing pointless stuff, that means I'm not PC worthy.

    What a joke.

It's not really bloated. UWP makes it look like there are stuff running (due to the tiles etc), but it really tombstones everything just by minimizing it. All of the UWP apps I run are many times lighter than their Win32 counterparts. If proper storage drivers are installed, Windows 10 is quite faster for older computers too. I would argue that the greatest bottleneck that these systems have with Windows 10 is GPU performance and nothing else, an issue that they would have had just browsing no matter the OS at this point.

To be honest i like windows 7 way more then 10.With 10 i feel part of the beta testing team and i don't want an OS that gets updated every 6 months. The only version of windows 10 i would consider is the Ltsb version.

I have been using win 10 on my second rig from the day of release and i'm still not impressed by it.

I hope more people will go back to windows 7.

Unfortunately going back to win7 won't help anybody in the long term. I myself am using win10 LTSB and still I am not impressed. It doesn't feel like you're winning anything with win10 in comparison to other windows versions. Sadly, we won't see any use for win7 as eventually, they will end support for drivers too some day. My HTPC's still running win7 and I don't see much reason to change that tbh, since it's "legacy hardware" anyway (socket 1366 i7 950).

The same can be said for practically any product.
I'm still on Windows 7 and havent found a single reason to change to Windows 10.
Its just as viable as when I started using it.
I wont call Windows 10 an upgrade because its not as good or nice an experience.

Why change happiness to annoyance, makes no sense.

Its indeed an annoyance it runs ok as on OS but i dislike the extra features and the whole tweaking you need to do to get it working right.

Windows 7 just runs ok from the start not much to customize or to turn off or to disable.

If everybody went back to 7 or 8 and let Microsoft know we don't want to act as the beta testers club they would maybe change something.

Not everybody has issues though, or wants to tweak or disable anything.

The ones who do just tend to be very vocal.

I personally don't touch a thing and it works fine for me.
