Just like in the RC builds I have issue with Windows 7 64bit desktop freezing and only thing moving is the mouse then after a few minutes of moving the mouse the mouse stops and nothing works. THis happen with old pc and RC build and now new PC and Retail build but only at random with idling on desktop for long time.

Most the power saving stuff is disabled like the Harddrive idle shutdown/ Sleep and hibernations is turned off, Im think maybe bios option but idont know what would cause that

could be your harddrive, i had something like this and it was my harddrive had bad sectors and it was dying.

i highly recommend a full chkdsk to check for bad sectors.

OK will I ran Chkdsk last night and far as I know it found nothing wrong, and As for ram I dont seem them beeing bad as I have no problems with other stuff, I could maybe go with the HD seeing other then the HD the GPU and PSU only thing left from my old pc that used in the new one

I disabled Aero on Win 7 to see if maybe that the cause. If it was the Hdd and or memory, WHy would XP have not have this problem but Windows 7?

Hey over the last few days I have been getting these problems too, exactly the same

First the internet drops out (USB Dongle)
2nd the PC stops responding but the mouse works
3rd the mouse freezes and forces a reset

I am going to uninstall the stability update that was causing others problems KB977074 I think it was

I`ll try that and report back, I was going to wipe it, but it seems now maybe something else is causing it

Oh dont say that, I have 2 SATA in RAID 0 Striped Config, that would be a disaster !

Seriously that not cool if it the harddrive,I mean I can understand the HD that used to first test win7 on doing this cause i dropped the HD a few times, BUt the current one I using been running fine since the day i got it, and according to Scandisk and Seagate Tools the is nothing wrong with my Barracuda 500.12 harddrive, mean whiile if I put XP back on it will work fine

I think we are going to find it to be an incompatible update / program and a piece of hardware we both have

    Phenom II 965 C3 BE
    ASUS M3N-HD/HDMI
    2 x 2GB Corsair XMS2 1066Mhz DDR2 RAM
    Sapphire HD 5770
    2 x 160GB SATA RAID 0 Striped Config

    Windows 7 Ultimate x64

EDIT - Doh, just realized all that is in my specs lol

Hmm... well that describes my problem, but it has nothing to do with screenblanking - its happening while I am using the PC

i dont know then about you cause this usual happens when I bring my screen back from standby mode, I have turn off the monitor turn off feature to see if it stops the problem, THey all so it could be cause with Autohide taskbar if you use that could you try turning that off and report back?

While another person claims the latest south bridge or ATI/AMD and CC fixed this for him

the disabling of monitor turn off has seemingly fixed the problem
