Both 256MB both GDR3 Both 16 pipes both almost same price. Which is the best. Never tried an ATI card. But for £200 am tempted. My old 6800XT RIP:frown:
Definately go for the the 1800xl if u want to buy something now rather wait for the new 7900s to come out then make a choice. The 1800xl are much faster but rather wait
Saphire X1800 temps??? I have AGP & PCI E slots on my mobo. Very surpriced to find the X1800XL at such a reasonable price. £200 is top whack for me so no point to wait for the next generation. Can't find much out about the x1800. A search of this forum came up with only one post. Apart from having only 256mb instead of 512 it appears similar to the XT. They have the same Samsung K4J55323QG-BC14 memory chips. The 6800 ultra is a little cheaper at £180 & has slightly slower core & memory. but I havn't seen any tests/benchmarks for the 1800 so its difficult to compare. Does the Saphire run cool. The stock cooler looks skinney compared to the 6800 Ultra? Its an ultra not a Gt as per my first post! You can't beet new tec for lowering the price of the last weeks new stuff
Dude, just get the X1800XL. That thing can OC like a mofo and will beat the snot out of any similare priced nVidia card. You heard it folks, straight from a mouth that has used nVidia forever. I've owned some ATI cards, but never kept them. Only thing that kept me from an ATI card this time around was the price.
