anyone tried this one yet? i manage to make it work in some games but it doesnt work in some games (UT2003) http://www.softcows.com/speed_gear.htm
it's a cool program already used it a while ago, but did you read what it says on their page? User Opinion: "Super Fast" Every so often the program will lock up my computer system (once a day maybe); but the speed increase in Windows more than makes up for its instability. Throttle it to the fastest speed setting and stop waiting for Windows to catch up. I paid for version 3.0 (used 3.0 for months) and got the new 5.0 version for free from the company. Worth every penny. -ElPolloLoco yeah...probably no need to buy new hardware anymore...lol
"WOW!!" I passed by this program dozens of times so the other day just out of boredom I had a look at it. WOW!! My 433 mhz processor is behaving like an 800 mhz and I feel like I've bought a new computer. Don't be fooled by the simple interface -this is REALLY POWERFUL STUFF. Gains are as great as overclocking but without the risk. Windows open automatically, games play fast and I can do things on my computer like have transparency without losing too much power. When you buy this you have to send in your machine code to get it registered as well as pay. The guy who made this knows it's worth. ...yeahh right.
so my 6800 would be stimulated to a.....9999 ultra some'n - gotta get it wow - get a cheap-ass dell and make it into an alienware monster.
Fresh Desktop Fresh Desktop is a useful utility that lets you manage vast collections of wallpapers for your desktop with ease. Yeah, it's called the My Pictures folder
Just of warning , dont use this on VAC secured servers on CS , this program was once used as a hack for CS 1.6 (I dont know wether it still works.
One user stated that it would cause his system to lock up about once a day, but he still thinks it's worth it? My experience has taught me that for every action there is a reaction. I don't trust what this software does to Windows in order to get it's performance gains. Nothing is worth me having to restart my computer because it keeps locking up. I would rather invest in a faster CPU and more RAM. Did I mention I saw this advertisment for a pill that makes your **** larger. I heard it doesn't work either.
Re: Re: Speed Gear (slow mo utility in games) NO! Really, he does talk to dead people. Although he doesn't have clairvoyance enough to use his mystical powers at the Casino. I guess that's why he's stuck having to talk to dead people to get rich.
Re: Re: Re: Speed Gear (slow mo utility in games) yeah and ghosts can only be seen by gifted people (also known as crazy/lunatic/out of their mind-people)
well this is one of te user comments, "This program is awesome" This program is awesome. No doubt. If your comp suffers from crashes, then you have the speed set to high. This is kind of a hack for games. It cause your units or unit (first person) to move faster then those around you. Other then making it unfair in games, this program has raised my computer's speed greatly. -ty wonder what that would do in halo'esq games? and another comment, "SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL" Oh my god its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL when I use it in game I run 3 times faster than player without Speeder XP (Speed Gear formerly called Speeder XP) since I use it I never lose! -sebdj (Germany) well...taht is just unfair, i wont be useing it. EDIT: Well i downloaded it just to see...i havent actuall changed anything but look at what the F.A.Q reads, "Will the Speed Gear harm my computer from over clocking? No, it will not harm your computer because it does not over clocking your computer, but change your software speed. " Then "Does the Internet connection speed increase if I increase the speed? No, It only changes the CPU speed!" i thought it didnt overclock the CPU? isnt that what changing the CPU speed is ? overclocking?
I'm pretty sure that this is the program they were using to speed hack in CS:S before Vac2 reared it's mightly cheat fighting head.
It only looks that way on the interface, you get the same fast effect by disabling the windows animations altogether. It doesn't speed up any kind of actual processing. There's another utility like this before, only that one was used to slow down the clock 'ticks' to make older games playable. That one places itself between the clock and the software and regulates how many 'ticks' the CPU gets per actual cycle. 1 software tick, every 2 'real' ticks means the game runs half as fast as normal for example. I suppose SpeedGear does the same.
