The 9900K paired with two RTX 2080ti is currently my target spec if anything in my current rig breaks. But as long as my current rig keeps purring along and I don't really need the new features on the RTX cards, I'll wait.

How boring, they don't even tell us what clocks they bin them for...

looks like all those sub 500$ 7820x's are gone now, hope it was worth the wait if you were holding out for this.

    on the product page: https://siliconlottery.com/products/9700k?variant=12748784336982
because it takes a minute to see the %'s at X clock speed(s)/vcore before setting $$

I don't know, maybe I'm blind, but in your link and the overclock.net thread, they still don't give any intel on their clocks as of right now. I was just commenting on it because the price is pretty meaningless without knowing what they actually offer. It's just placeholders right now (as they say themselves in the thread you linked), so technically not even worth the news (no offense intended Hilbert).

you're fine, tbh, i too am disappointed they didn't show their binning results yet.

Does non-binned mean "fail"? What makes CPU non-binned, how far can it clock?
Why would someone want to buy non-binned CPU, if its price the same as retailer?

Man, news are hard to swallow these days.

The pic states boxed products, so these are not binned by Silicon Lottery and you take your chances just as normal.
You receive the product sealed as you would from any other retailer selling the boxed version.

On the other hand, buying an unspecified speed 'tray' version from any retailer that sells OC'd products is of course going to get you one that failed to be good enough to sell at a premium. Pre-built systems are the place well known retailers dump their not so great chips.

Once they bin the chips they will post there methods along with which board and voltages was used etc. Im sure they will go through a couple 20 packs of CPU's to get overclocking percentages. If the chip can't hit there first bin bucket with n voltage then its a factory / stock CPU.

This is probably the first i7 in 5 years that had a reasonable price. I still have no intention on buying or recommending it (gamers are better off with an 8600K, workstations are better off with a Ryzen 7) but the price of the 9700K is otherwise decent for what you're getting.

Hope you are joking, SLI/NVlink scales anywhere from 80% to -5% performance boost and a system like that would cost 3000$ minimum.
Me myself choice to buy a car instead of buying a system like that.
I know the 9900k is just a 8700k with 2 ekstra cores glued on, so the performance should be predictable, but at least wait for the prices to settle, because some rumors would suggest, that the 9900k would be over MSRP.

Basically they're ensuring a chip will hit a certain frequency at a certain voltage under a certain temperature.

    Also edited post, not cool.

This is also the first i7 without HT - a massive downgrade, IMO. Also, I doubt these chips will be widely available - due to the shortage, enterprise customers will get priority. There is no way Intel would focus on releasing 8-core chips to enthusiasts when large businesses are demanding their Xeons.

If they aren't listed, they are stock speeds.
    Basically brand new unopened.

HT is overrated. The MSRP of a 6700K was $20 cheaper, and yet that had 4c/8t. On average, a HT-thread might offer about 30% of the performance of a real core (+/- 15%, depending on the task). So, by having 4 additional real cores instead of HT, that should offer a substantial performance gain for a minimal price increase.
So yes, it's a little stupid that Intel is obviously artificially disabling HT, but compared to previous generations, this i7 is objectively better despite the lack of HT.
    That I would agree with.

No one is posting porn number one, if they are it's deleted. If you have any issues, PM me or another staff member.

And it's not a scam, they're only ensuring the CPU, not any other part of your system. Most mobos and VRMs handle the same, just make sure you have the cooling for it.

There might be something in this, my 4790k runs at 5GHz no problem with one GPU, but if I SLI things, it can throw the occasional bluescreen.
